pointer can't cross screens - 2 identical screens, macos Ventura
After some debugging i think i understand the problem. We have 2 mac studio displays, Ventura simply reads them as Studio Display (1) and Studio Display (2)
I also have another monitor (a tv) connected to the hdmi port of the mac, and i can travel from my screen 1 to the tv no problem, but I can never go to the monitor 2.
I've tried the Toggle monitor option, and that's when i realised that the problem must be in the naming of these display, because toggling from monitor 1 to monitor 2 would still show me the pointer just on monitor 1, again working as expected on the Sony TV.
I've downloaded a software called SwitchResX which would allow to rename the monitors, i did that, calling them Studio Display LEFT and Studio Display RIGHT, restarted the machine, and checking the display settings they were indeed been renamed but only to Studio Display LEFT (1) and Studio Display LEFT (2)
So this must be some deeper problem with Macos Ventura's way of dealing with displays I assume, if anyone has the same problem or solution please let me know. I guess anyone with a set of identical monitors would get the same issue as me
cheers
