Cintiq 16 Pro - Random pen pressure fluctuation

As the title says, I randomly get very thick lines while hardly applying any pressure. I always need to undo and redo the lines when that happens. The issue disappears after I draw the new lines, but often returns a few lines later. This is a periodic issue, mind you. It may not happen at all for a whole day/drawing session, but other times, like today, it's happening constantly while I'm in the process of doing hair, no less, driving me nuts!

Drivers are up to date and the tip is brand new.

Any help would be appreciated.

  Hi Vee, 

  The intermittence of the issue suggests an issue with the drawing software. Something is interfering with processing the pressure data while rendering the strokes. 

  I don't know which OS or app you are using, but I would suggest fully updating your system and apps if you haven't already. 

  Then please check the app developer recommended settings. 

  If you are using any of the apps below, here are a few suggestions: 

  1. Photoshop
  2. Clip Studio
  3. Corel Painter
