SOLVED [Main post] [Mac OS] Modifiers (Shift, Command, Control,...)+ click not working with pen clicks after 6.4.4-2
This is the main thread regarding the new found issue with Wacom Driver 6.4.4-2 for Mac.
Please keep all your comments about this issue under this post.
Issue: When performing clicks while holding any modifier (Shift, Command, Control,…) on Mac OS, the expected action will not work. Using the same modifier with a mouse still works.
Status: Issue has been reproduced and is being investigated with high priority.
Recommended steps:
- Follow this post for updates. This way you will be notified once there is an update
- When the issue happens, it can sometimes be recovered by using the driver restart feature from the Wacom Center
NOTE: Doing this more than once may be needed to restart the driver correctly - Roll back to the previous driver version from here: https://www.wacom.com/en-de/support/product-support/drivers

Hello Everyone, the reported issue of modifier keys (Shift, Command, ect..) not working with the macOS driver has been resolved with the last driver released today. Please download and install the driver. If you see any issues, please contact Wacom Support Directly.

not even that...the last driver is permamently restarting on macbook pro M1 sonoma with so you are not possible to work...you cannot work 5-7minutes until it restart by itself....and
it ended always with message attached here...aplication "wacomtouchdriver" is not open anymore/wacom intuos M and S BT/2 -
In the meanwhile I have installed some shortcuts on my tablet...

Same problem, and I cannot rollback to previous driver without removing the current one, and there is no indication how to do this. :(

There is some "new driver" showing but when I try to install it it fails. When this terrible issue will be fixed, I am waiting since Sunday! it is taking too long!!!

Any idea on fix time for this as I am using Sonoma with Intros Pro M Wacom version 6.4.4-2 and it is still failing, cannot do any work unless I revert to a mouse.

I have resolved the problem for now by using an older version for: PTH-460 - Wacom Intuos Pro small (2019). The version is: Driver 6.4.3-2 (macOS 10.15 - 13) - 158 MB

Hi! I am having the same problem.... Just install the new driver (because it was working badly with the prevous one) and now this. Tired of this wacom, it's not a good product. Hope you can solve it quickly.

While Wacom is trying to solve this problem. I got back to Driver 6.4.3-2 (macOS 10.15 - 13)
And realizing the Wacom tablet in Lightroom classic constantly lags behind or even a spinning wheel comes up.
Also after startup of the computer, or sleep, the wacom tablet needs 10-20 seconds to be active.
Something to look into too?

Hi, how long can it take to resolve this terrible issue? Not only the driver is stopping the keyboard shortcuts, but also is restarting itself multiple times during work. TERRIBLE, help!

This is driving me insane. Trying to get work done in After Effects. Shift selecting fails abut every 6 minutes.

I uninstalled the latest driver and went back to Driver 6.4.1-2. I haven't had any issues since. Just keeping an eye on these threads to see if/when a driver is released that solves the issues we all have been experiencing with the latest drivers.

Having the same issue. I just recently updated my OS and my Adobe products as well. I'm on OS Sonoma 14, so I don't think going back to previous driver is an option. Hopefully the fix is coming soon!

I cannot work without this working. Software has been buggy awhile now, then after OS Mac update..pen will not work with keyboard option commands like shift or control. Please fix this asap.....I'm all updated on Adobe and Mac OS.

I tried un-installing the driver, re installed still had the same problem with the keys cmd, shift and opt keys not working with the pen, with the addition of it disconnecting just like martin’s issue. The “touch is off” keeps popping up on my tablet as well even though it’s already off on my hardware… this update hasn’t been performing well with Mac OS update Sonoma 😔

Same issue with the last driver with Ventura. So I reinstall an old diver (6.4.3-2). This old driver stop and star continuously but it's less problematic than the last 2 drivers. How long will I have to wait for a REAL solution ?

Me too. 6.4.3-2 works, but keeps crashing/stop starting. Please Wacom , can you at least update us where you are at?

I'm running Sonoma 14.1 and this is now coming up. I've restarted the driver and removed and reinserted the tablet. The cursor is now moving very slowly making it impossible to work with
. Are there any new suggestions for getting this sorted? 1 -
I'd like to point out that the issue of the Wacom touch driver restarting/crashing at random has been a recurring issue for many months now. I have multiple tablets, supposedly compatible with Mac OS, and all have experienced the same. Others have reported similar problems that have lasted this length of time.
Genuinely considering selling off all the hardware and switching to HUION; this is getting impossible to deal with.

The pen does not work for at least 2 common keyboard actions for me - select multiple objects holding shift, and also command/space bar to zoom in to specific areas. I have had no problems over years of continuous use of these key strokes until I installed this latest driver. I have also uninstalled, disconnected internet and reinstalled according to instructions and it is still a problem. Such a time waste.

Please resolve this, it's driving me crazy and slowing my work down. Working in Photoshop with workarounds for alt/shift/cmd is not really possible.

Wacom works really dramatically. The alt/shift/cmnd keys do not work in combination with the wacom. He also disconnects continuosly. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Wacom several times. The Macbook has also been started 19 times. It drives me crazy and limits my work.
