The Art Pen is INCREDIBLY useful if you actually digitally paint. I use mine all the time. If you want to understand how useful it is look up WEBBYPAINT on Instagram. The rotation feature is implemented in the software and allows you to paint like you would in real life with a flat brush. The rotation feature is WAY more useful than the tilt functionality. I don’t miss it and never use it, even on my Apple Pencil. If Wacom doesn’t figure this out, eventually some competitor will and eat Wacom’s lunch, which would be a pity considering that Wacom had this functionality first. PLEASE BRING BACK THE ART PEN!

Please reconsider the decision to remove the art pen. The loss of this vital tool for digital painting will negatively impact many of us exclusively using this pen model for digital painting. The art pen is the only tool of its kind and many of us rely on daily use in our workflows.

Please reconsider your decision on the art pen. The functionality of barrel rotation is unmatched. There are no other alternatives to achieve the same results. I hope for the sake of many users that you will reconsider or look at development of an even better product.

As has been stated by others the Art Pen is critical for my painting needs in photoshop. Discontinuation of this product will cripple so many current and up and coming artists.
I urge you to please reconsider your choice of discontinuation of this product, or to please offer an upgrade. It is a disservice to the digital art community to continue forth with discontinuation.

I will say it again like many others...PLEASE BRING THE ART PEN BACK! It is so helpful to all of us! I have client projects to paint and lessons to complete which becomes next to impossible without the art pen. My original art pen died and I cannot find a replacement anywhere that is in stock! Please bring it back!!! It is so needed!

I have used the Wacom Art Pen to create my digital paintings for as long as I can remember. The digital painting community is made up of so many different types of digital artists, but the digital painter has long been aware of the power of 360 degree barrel rotation, which allows us to paint in a traditional manner with a rotation that is unmatched by any other pen out there! You just threw away what made Wacom so unique; they understood the digital painter. Reconsider or give us a next-generation pen with the same attributes as the Art Pen.

When I found out the Art pen was being discontinued I immediately secured one on eBay. This thing is pure gold. I didn't realize how great this tool was until I worked with it in Webbypaint because the live feedback on it is so poorly implemented in Photoshop.
For Wacom to keep their edge on the competition they need to revive this thing and make sure its integrations are solid. Clip Studio and PS don't properly respect the barrel rotation feature though it is still useful in Photoshop -- just not as much as if the cursor preview would track with the shape changes while painting.
If Clip Studio and PS would update to support this they would be better apps for painters. In Webbypaint, the one app I've found that does, I can pull ridiculous brushwork and it makes my iPad pale in comparison.3 -

Keep the Art Pen! Only one I ever use and would be very disappointed if anything were to happen to it and it couldn't be replaced.

PLEASE do not discontinue the art pen!! It's a lot of people's livelihood using this pen for their art. Please tell us that you're just coming out with a new one but it will have the same specs as the old one, ie, the barrel rotation.

The Art Pen with those features and 360-rotation is so significant for us and you can't just take it away. It is like taking the football out of a game! Please keep producing it as usual - we need it!!!

To discontinue the art pen is a rather short sighted and extremely dubious move. This move will gut and hamstring artists using the digital format. There must be some way to impress upon you at Wacom the complete reliance of your artistic customers on this pen and what it does. Wacom has set the standard when it comes to tablets and pens, a normally first class company with intelligent and forward thinking developers.

Wacom - Please reconsider discontinuing the art pen with barrel rotation! Either that, or put us all at ease with something equivalent or better (still with barrel rotation). I too use this every day for painting in photoshop, and would be extraordinarily handicapped without it!

Just learned there will be no more Art Pen. OMG, it’s the only pen I use. It is essential for achieving realistic folk art stroke work and traditional looking oils. I love this pen and have always recommended it to new digital artists. 360 degree barrel rotation is needed, please do not discontinue this wonderful pen.

I'm curious. Are there ANY other stylus (style?) that have rotation, I've only ever used Wacom for 20+ years? If Wacom refuses to support this feature then it may be time to start looking at competitors.

Your Art Pen has been so important in learning to transition from traditional art to digital art. Please bring it back. My success as a digital artist has been dependent on the use of this pen. I can't imagine having to learn new forms of digital painting without it!

I can't understand why you are stopping the Art Pen. It is the only tool with which you can create digital art in the manner of traditional painting. 360 degree barrel rotation is essential for that!!!

Another vote for not discontinuing the Art Pen! There are so many of us that still use it and most especially the barrel rotation functionality. If you aren't going to update, please at least continue offering the current one and continue it's support.

Please bring back the Art Pen! This is a needed accessory! The only reason I bought this is to paint not draw. If you won’t bring tge old back please bring out an updated version with rotation.

It is unfortunate that Wacom has discontinued the art pen because the rotation feature built into photoshop that allows us digital painters to work efficiently in directing the thousands of brush shapes we have with the edge we need to rotate to isn’t possible ! No other wacom pen has this feature. Painting in photoshop is an up and coming art form that requires a pen the allows complete freedom of movement ! So sad Wacom can’t be the leader in this! I guess we will have to work with another tablet maker to create the one we all need. Why make so many pens that are pretty much the same and remove the ArtPen that is alone unique? It makes very poor business sense:(

I guess I'll add my comment to the list. I don't understand why you would discontinue the Art Pen. Its barrel rotation is unique to this pen and to Wacom. It's also required for many of us who paint in Photoshop and/or Corel. Please reconsider discontinuing this unique pen.

While I’m heartened that we got an official reply on the status of the Art Pen, I sure feel bad for anyone who’s only just discovered what an amazing, dare I say essential, tool for digital painting/illustration it is, yet won’t be able to actually purchase one. Hold onto those Art Pens y’all currently own because they will be legacy/legendary items!

Thanks for the official response. I just shut down enrollment to my Photoshop painting course because I cannot in good conscience frustrate new students who cannot access this incredible tool. The course I've spent a decade building and the thing that fulfills my teacher's heart just vanished into thin air. I enjoy teaching MUCH more than the ghost painting I do most days. It's what keeps me sane. Please make a new pen with barrel rotation a priority. Painters everywhere are counting on you!

Thank you Wacom for at least acknowledging our need...I wouldn't even mind buying a newer wacom tablet version to get an art pen with it! but...i am sure one of several manufacturers will take up the challenge as Painting inside Photoshop is an up and coming form of art and growing as people find the brushes tools versatility...now it remains to make the tool to use the Photoshop assets in a healthy way for hand, arm,wrist,shoulder for all the new artists discovering this medium. surely in todays tech world some engineer will find the materials and tech to create what we all need! I do hope its Wacom! Keep trying..hire a better engineer maybe...i would rather see you stay on the forefront of technology! thanks

As a long-time customer of Wacom products over the years I was shocked to find out only today that I cannot replace my most prized pen of all. What prompted this decision I cannot imagine unless there is an upgrade for it on the horizon. I join the voices of fellow artists in requesting a reversal of this mistake in marketing by Wacom. We need this pen! Without it the tablet is ordinary and this is something a Wacom device should never be. Don’t make me beg, but if necessary I will, please… don’t do this.
Wacom already has rotation technology so I don’t understand why it would be difficult to continue production of a once existing pen. That they sold out everywhere is enough testament to realize that this pen was not only used by digital artists but as a necessary piece of equipment to use the Wacom tablet for creating natural and more organic works of art.
I use this pen as a daily driver on all three of my cherished Wacom tablets for painting and drawing with Painter 2023, Rebelle 7 Pro, Krita, Affinity Suite, and Photoshop. Thank you for considering our concerns on this, it means a lot to know Wacom has truly heard us.1
