My wacom cintiq 24 pro makes random fan noises
Hello! I've been hearing these random fan noises: https://imgur.com/a/2yc7kwt it only happens on the right fan, and the screen isn't even hot. My tablet is 3 years old.
I did factory reset and reinstalled driver, changed from auto to low speed but the fan noises persist... Does anyone know what is it? Is this norm? Is there any solution? :(

Hello Daria Dzyuba,
Thanks for reaching out and making a video.
This would be due to several different things. I have opened a support ticket for you so you can discuss repair options with the team.2 -
Thank you! I really appreciate it!

Since I installed the latest driver update (on windows 11), I do have the same problem. My cintiq 24 is brand new with just a couple of weeks of work and never had any fan noise before. After the latest driver update I started getting random fan blowns on the right side, very short and clearly wrong as it's cold here and there is nothing hot in the device itself. I do not think it's hardware related. In fact I'm pretty sure it's caused by the update.

Hi Pierpaolo Murru,
That is not likely since the Wacom driver has no influence on the fan speed. What could influence this would be a firmware update which is installed separately from the Wacom driver or a hardware issue.
If you say the blows are only on the left side, this could be due to issue with the heat sensor on the left.
Please check with the support team for further advise how to proceed.

Hi, thanks for the answer João
Im on 1.0.7 firmware with fans speed set to auto. The right side fan started making random noise, right away after latest driver install, thats why I assumed wasnt a coincidence.
BTW it happens only for few minutes after first cold boot in the morning, then fan noise is gone for the rest of the day. As I said this Cintiq is brand new (I had the previous 24HD model which is now parked and it needs servicing), so I hope isn't hardware related as shipping back these things to service it's painful (and this is also installed on a ergo stand). I will keep monitoring the situation and contact support if this getting any worse.
Again thanks for your support.

How is it now, Pierpaolo Murru ? Did you find a solution?
I just read your texts and my situation is a bit similar, but for me the fan noises started to happen after windows 11 update, around mid January of this year.

I'm having this exact same problem with my Cintiq Pro 24. Have used it for a couple of years on Windows 10 and never even knew it had fans until I switched it over to a Windows 11 rig. It just goes kind of crazy and the fans spin randomly when I first wake the computer from sleep in the morning, after a few minutes it settles down and goes quiet. It seems to be escalating though.
I just reinstalled latest drivers and reset settings, so we'll see if that changes anything.
Update: Latest drivers did not fix it. Still goes crazy for several minutes after waking the system from sleep.0 -
Having this same issue, have had my Cintiq 24 pro for a few years and never had a problem with the fan randomly coming on, since recent updates I'm experiencing the same behavior described in this thread, sometimes right after booting up my system in the morning, it's not hot at all. I also keep the brightness below 50% almost always to keep it cool. I'm also on Windows 11. Has anyone found any solutions?

Hi, I have the exact same issue you have, and I am looking for a solution. I don't think this random fan noise is normal. It's even louder than my speaker music, but I cannot fix it. my cintiq pro 24 is only around two months used

Hi guys!
I haven't found any solution yet. I was able to have a few silent days without any fan noise, but the crazy fan noise still appears randomly on some days, and sometimes lasts for a whole day. It's just super random. I even tried connecting my cintiq to a different computer that still has windows 10, the fans still spin like crazy. It seems that the windows 11 update changed something to the tablet firmware, is it possible to happen? I'm waiting for the new wacom firmware update to see if it solves something.0 -
Below was Wacom's response when I reached out directly for help, which you can see was no help at all since I'm not under warranty and they are treating it like an issue with my hardware specifically. Guess we're just waiting if they want to address the issue in the firmware or until I switch to a different tablet company or go completely insane from the constant fan noises haha
" Apologies for the inconvenience. It seems that your device will require a repair for diagnostic purposes to determine if any hardware issues exist. As the device was purchased a couple of years ago, it is likely out of warranty and the repair may incur some costs, depending on the nature of the problem.
As for contacting the developer team directly, I regret to inform you that we do not have any methods to facilitate this. However, I can certainly relay your message to them by creating a customer feedback ticket. "1 -
Same here!
I bought my Wacom 24 PRO in 2018 and it's only now starting to have these problems!
The fans spin randomly even when my computer is off.0
