Pen touch stops working on and off
Hello there, I have a Wacom Intuos Pro M (PTH-660) with the Wacom driver 6.4.4-3 and I run on windows 10.
Since around the end of August/beginning of September, I have been experiencing issues with the pen touch seemingly turning on and off. When I draw, it will randomly not register the start of my brush stroke or randomly not register I'm drawing mid-brushstroke which results in broken-up lines or no line at all if it's a shorter brush stroke I'm doing. So if I'm trying to do a small brush stroke, sometimes it takes me over 5 times to get it to register and a line to appear. The same issues happen if I'm trying to click something with my pen, sometimes it takes me several attempts before I can successfully select what I'm trying to select by clicking (fx select the eraser, colour pick, click on any setting etc). It's seemingly random and is a universal issue across applications.
If I tap hard enough or press hard enough, it seems to fix it but I'd rather not damage the screen surface by doing that as I have to do it pretty hard for the stroke to register.
I have tried a few things in an attempt to fix it:
- Restart my computer
- Uninstall and reinstall the wacom driver
- Turned "Tip double click distance" off as per another post I saw
- Replaced the screen surface
- Replaced the nip
And none of it has worked.
I don't exactly know if it's that the pen just stops registering or if it just thinks I'm pressing very lightly randomly. I'm considering the latter because if the size of the image and the brush size are large enough, there will be a very low opacity and small stroke of whatever brush I'm using in the space where the stroke has seemingly stopped registering.
I have attached a picture of the problem so you can see what I mean by the breaks in the brush strokes.
