Visual Artist (Painter) looking for a Product - NOT SURE HOW TO CHOOSE
Hi There, I'm a visual artist who paints and does life sketching. I want to get into Digital Painting and Drawing but don't know where to start my research. Sometimes I make rough, brushy paintings and fast pencil or charcoal studies, and other times I need to make very fine line work with dynamism (thick to thin) and properties of brush ink painting and/or watercolor textures.
I don't do photorealistic retouching or any kind of editing, nor concept art, but I would like to create believable environments for fine art purposes.
Should I just watch Youtube videos to help choose what Wacom products are best for beginners? Some people have a Wacom tablet for drawing and a separate one for painting? Is this necessary?

Welcome to the Wacom Community. Glad to hear you are interested in starting Digital Art.
Considering your background, I would suggest that you consider a pen display - https://www.wacom.com/en-us/products/pen-displays
Which pen display then depends on the features you would like to have.
For example:
- if you like to do fine work where more precise pressure sensitivity is important, then consider a Pen display that supports at least the Pro Pen 2.
- Touch input which is very useful if you want to zoom in and out and quickly and also rotate the canvas like you would rotate a sheet of paper.
Since you are not sure, I would suggest that you start by checking the Wacom One 13 Pen Display (DTH134) and see if the specifications will fit your needs.
A few more things to consider:
- You will need a computer with Windows or Mac OS installed (preferably the latest version available). You can also consider Chrome OS and Android, but there will be drawbacks as most creative applications are available for Windows or Mac only.
