This is most likely related with a recent Mac OS feature in which True Tone and Auto Brightness in MacOS system Display setting is automatically enabled.
This will prevent Wacom Display Settings from communicating with the Wacom Display.
To disable this:
- Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Displays. If you have multiple displays connected, click Display Settings, then select your display.
- uncheck True Tone checkbox to turn this feature off. (if you do not see this option, skip to the next step)
- uncheck Auto Brightness checkbox to turn this feature off.
If you still see the error "Please wait while we talk to your displays..."
You might need to add WacomDisplaySettings in Security Preferences > Accessibility
