Wacom One Pen Display connection issues

I've had the tablet for a few years, recently the tablet will disconnect and reconnect in quick succession to my laptop multiple times (as if the hdmi isn't registering) until I wiggle the wire. It will also occasionally completely switch off but will turn back on when I push the power button with no wire adjustments. I replaced the x-shaped cable and the issues persist, I'm unsure on if the issue is the adapter or the tablet at this point. With the new cable the turning off of the tablet is more frequent than the hdmi interferrence. Drivers are up to date and the cable / adapter are official wacom ones.
