The Art Pen
To discontinue the art pen is a rather short sighted and extremely dubious move. This move will gut and hamstring artists using the digital format. There must be some way to impress upon you at Wacom the complete reliance of your artistic customers on this pen and what it does. Wacom has set the standard when it comes to tablets and pens, a normally first class company with intelligent and forward thinking developers.

To discontinue the art pen throws many digital painters under the bus. Digital painters take years to develop efficiency and muscle memory using software tools. The work- arounds become an awkward two handed affair and are time consuming which results in reduced efficiency to meet client goals not to mention the wear and tear on the body. Artists create many custom brushes based around using the art pen. Software companies need to consider the users of their products. To arbitrarily discontinue tools that impact workflows and years of developing efficiency in the use of those tools is devastating to consumers.

Have you seen that Apple released the Apple Pencil Pro, which has barrel rotation? I’m curious how Wacom’s marketing team sees this development…
