Multiple screen problems in Windows 10

I have an Acer ConceptD 7 laptop and a Intuos pen tablet.  My problem is I am trying to work on a larger external terminal with inkscape and other creative software and my external display keeps resetting , going blank and hanging the laptop display, for a few seconds.  I have never managed to solve it - the problem isn't just with the wacom tablet, it happens with my touch screen and a mouse.  I suspect its a windows 10 problem but I haven't been able to fix it and I wondered if anyone on this forum had got a solution?  Thank you
