Wacom cintiq pro 16

I've recently purchased the wacom cintiq pro 16. I've made sure that I set everything up correctly ,however the display for my tablet does not work. When I download the driver's for the tablet it also says that there was a compatibility issue because my OS doesn't support the drivers,despite the cintiq pro saying windows 7 & later can support the cintiq. I'm using windows 8.1 on a Gateway ZX6971-UB10P computer. Is there something I'm missing or do I really have to get another computer?
