Required migration / copying of custom settings per application for Intuos Pro
For many years I use Intuos Pro tablets. I had to stop using "pro" functionality, which is customizing behavior of tablet for specific application, eg Photoshop. "Pro" functionality is a kind of nightmare in real world. Below, I will focus on Photoshop to describe what happening.
Photoshop changes its versions 2023, 2024, 2025 etc. It has beta version as well. I customized pen, express keys and other settings. Lets say, installed version is 2024, which has just upgraded to 2025. All tablet settings disappeared because new version of Photoshop 2025 is not identified as Photoshop 2024. The tablet driver presents upgraded application as "Microsoft Shop" icon.
Moreover, when I install beta version I would expect to keep tablet settings as for major version of Photoshop. For now, it is possible, but requires technical guys to edit XML settings file. Also, current version of Photoshop will never inherit settings from previous one. I would like to have a button to transfer settings from previous version of application to current one.
I would expect that recent version of Photoshop (2024) is a source of settings for current settings of Photoshop in versions 2025 and "beta".Copying is a the best solution.
For years Wacom avoids to introduce copying / moving / deleting settings.among applications The reason of it is completely unclear. Is it kind of living in info bubble?
