Main Thread: Art Pen!
Épinglée(Comment From Wacom: We have made this the main/pinned thread for this concern. Please share in the comments your passion for the pen, including how you use the pen and what programs you use it in. )
Original Post:
The Art Pen is INCREDIBLY useful if you actually digitally paint. I use mine all the time. If you want to understand how useful it is look up WEBBYPAINT on Instagram. The rotation feature is implemented in the software and allows you to paint like you would in real life with a flat brush. The rotation feature is WAY more useful than the tilt functionality. I don’t miss it and never use it, even on my Apple Pencil. If Wacom doesn’t figure this out, eventually some competitor will and eat Wacom’s lunch, which would be a pity considering that Wacom had this functionality first. PLEASE BRING BACK THE ART PEN!

Doesn't replace my current worn-out Art Pen, being a Cintiq Pro 16 and 24 user when Wacom locked behind new gens, expecting me to spend thousands more to replace my working Cintiq too. I want to spend money but I guess I can't unless I have to spend big again. I want to know why they can make older gen pens to work with the new gen digitizer, yet they cannot do the same thing for the new pen. How special are these pens?

Please add compatibility for the PTH-660 and DTK-2420.

Wacom Cintiq 16 and 22 previous generation, Intuos Pro Touch S and Pro Touch M previous generation user here. My tablets still work and look new, but my Art Pen, which goes back many more years, doesn't.
So I would need to replace all of this equipment, in today's economy, just to get the new Art Pen to work for me? Wow. I can't do that. Also, the new Intuos tablets do not offer touch. I use the touch feature on those, even to control the canvas on my Cintiq displays.
Please make the driver for the new pen compatible with at least the previous generation of Cintiq and Intuos Pro tablets.
And beyond if possible, I know people who use much older Wacom pen and display tablets. But covering the previous generation of devices seems like a reasonable request to me. Thanks for listening!

Hey when I try to rotate mid-stroke, it doesn't work like it did on the old art pen. Is this a bug that will be fixed in the future?
Also stop deleting my posts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@ Evyn Fong, make sure you go to the Wacom Center and update your firmware. There will be more firmware updates coming for older models

@raquel have you gotten mid stroke rotation to work? It’s necessary to update the firmware to get the pen to work period so I installed that update and there’s no more queued. Not sure what you’re referring to.

@ Evyn, I have rotation with the new art pen, and I am using it on a Wacom Cintiq 24 DTK246K0A connected to Windows 11. You might want to try going to Wacom Tablet Properties to test the pens rotation. Open Wacom Tablet Properties and on the bottom left click on About> Diagnose (bottom left). You can test the rotation of the pen to see if it is working property. If you are still having issues, go to Wacom support.

Just to clarify, I am not talking about rotation period; that works as intended. I am talking about rotating the direction of the stroke *while* i am drawing, without lifting the pen up. That's a feature that I liked in the first art pen that doesn't seem to work with the new one.

I understand what you are saying as I can rotate the pen while I am drawing, so it might be the software you are using, or you might have a defective pen. You might want to contact Wacom and report this; they can give you answers that I can't.
