Wacom App Prefs Bug
Hello,
My Wacom driver software (for use with Intuos Pro Large) has become unusable because app-specific settings, such as screen mapping, get confused with other apps. This is a little hard to describe, so here is an example:
I have specific screen mapping settings for 'All Apps,' Photoshop, and Zbrush. When I change the mapping settings for Zbrush, the mapping settings for Photoshop also change.
I know I've seen this bug/issue floating around the internet before because I came across an engineer who showed how to open the Wacom preferences file in Notepad ++ and make some changes to app path directories to fix a related issue. (when multiple version of Photoshop are installed)
My problem is that I'm not an engineer, and when I open that file to try and sort out why the settings are getting confused, I'm unsure how to edit the file. I can see clearly at the top where the various apps are defined with an AppID and how it points to an executable at a certain file path, but I can't seem to figure out where the code below, the portion where all the settings are defined links to the defined AppID's.
I'd appreciate someone walking me through how to properly navigate this file and ensure that my apps are defined properly with appropriate paths, and link to the correct settings.
What I am NOT looking for is a recommendation to just reset the drivers, reinstall or factory reset my devices, rollback firmware, reinstall windows, throw my PC out the window, etc. :)
I appreciate any help in advance!
P.S. I wish Wacom would just fix this issue properly.

Here is the thread I mentioned regarding others with the same issue and having to edit the XML file manually; the only other alternative is completely deleting all custom preferences and starting from scratch, which clearly cannot be the proper solution. That is evidence that something is very wrong with the Wacom software.

I just reread their post and realized that the settings are referenced with just the APPID number. There is an IMMENSE amount of code to look through to figure out why settings are not being preserved for each app added. Can someone provide some help?

You can close this thread. I manually went through the code and found all the places the Wacom software was creating duplicate ID conflicts. Hope other people don't have too much of a headache dealing with these issues.
