How to transfer registration to install software?

My step son has given me his Wacom Intuos, as he now has a fancy tablet instead.

I'd like to install the associated software, but the device is already registered under his name.  Can I transfer ownership/registration of the device so that I can use the software bundle key code myself?

  There is some free software you can use though like Krita for example: https://krita.org/en/
