Cursor shape change and malfunction
I've had my wacom cintiq 16 for a few years. It's connected to my PC, and I use it as a second monitor for drawing. Recently, after turning off the cintiq, when I turn it back on the cursor looks like a small, white diamond and none of the pen buttons work. Here is more relevant information:
- the 3-in-1 cord has always been at an odd angle in my set-up
- I move the cintiq to the side often to make room on my desktop
- recently, when I move it while the cintiq is on, the screen glitches or turns into noise for a second
- when the cursor is a diamond and I go to Wacom Tablet Properties, I get a message that says "The tablet driver is not responding." The only way to turn the cursor to normal is to completely restart my PC, and this solution is only temporary.
- I've recently started using Clip Studio Paint, and the problem started shortly after. However, the cursor changes in Photoshop as well.
I'm guessing I need to change the 3-in-1 cable, but since I've had this machine a few years and the cord is $50, I thought I'd check here first to see if anyone else had a similar problem.

Hi Victoria Beasley,
Could you please provide a picture of what the cursor looks like in context?
To see if this could be caused by the connection, when you are working with the tablet, try to gently wiggle the connections and see if this triggers the change in cursor and disconnection as well as the driver error.
If yes, then you will probably need to replace the cable or even have the Cintiq ports checked in the repair center for your region.
If not, then there might be a driver error. If that is the case, just try using the driver restart feature in the Wacom Center and see if the driver is able to recover from that.

Also make sure Windows and the Wacom Driver are fully updated to the latest possible versions.
Here is where you can find the latest Wacom driver: https://www.wacom.com/en-de/support/product-support/drivers

Hey João,
I tried to take a screenshot, but the cursor wasn't showing up. But it's just a tiny, white diamond. It moves, but doesn't click or right click.
When I wiggle the main port connecting to the tablet, the cursor doesn't change, but the screen flickers black, so that's probably the issue. I just wish it wasn't. Wiggling the connections to the PC has no affect on the tablet.
I'll try the driver update anyway. I don't think I've updated it since I got it.
