Wacom Canvas app: brush sizes, flipping or locking the canvas, and other.
Hi, I really like this Wacom Canvas app on my Wacom MovinkPad Pro 14. It has real potential.
There are a few things that I hope Wacom will consider in future updates for their tablet line.
Different brush sizes, even if it's just 0.5, 0.7, and 0.9: The app has an excellent pencil tool as an example, I just have to zoom in on the canvas so that it's at a size I like sketching with. The default size when at 100% zoom feels like a 0.2 mechanical pencil.
Flip the canvas both vertically and horizontally: This is so that it's easy to check to see if everything looks right. And if this is ever even considered, it would be cool if the pen's tip was the pivot point when flipping the canvas...
Or the option to lock the canvas, so that flipping the tablet upside down to check the sketch out like one would with real media, doesn't cause the canvas to also flip back to upright. I do have my tablet's rotation set to locked, but the app ignores it.
And I'm sure you've heard this one plenty, the option to reassign the 3 buttons on the Pro Pen 3.
As for the MovinkPad, I really hope it's possible to add support for the older pens, like the newer Cintiqs. I would love to use my Art Pen on it.
BTW, not sure why the app differs between the 11 and 14 inch tablets. I personally would like it if both tablets had the same features. I wanted an 11 inch and was going to buy one -- I still want one... But then my Cintiq Pro died, so the Instant Pen Display was one of the reasons I bought the 14 inch.
