Pen Behaviour on switching Apps

I have used Wacom tablet for editing in Lightroom aset up the pen buttons and responses to suit.  I am now using other apps as well and know that you can set the pen up for different apps in dfferent ways.  Stupid and perhaps a bit hopeful question, but do you have to switch manuualy between each profile or should the software to it automatically.  If not is ther some sort of quick toggle that can be used instead of having to go into the Wacom Control Centre.
