    From your description, this appears like a connection issue. If possible, please make sure you connect the Intuos Pro directly to the Mac using the USB cable. If that doesn't work please try a different cable. 

    If the connection keeps acting up, please try resetting the SMC: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295
