    Hi Cesare Fanelli

I am not sure what you mean exactly. Could you please clarify what are you exactly looking for?

    Hi João,

yes, I'm exploring the possibilities of wacom formats since I've bought a Bamboo Slate. I'd like to have a backup of my records in native format, but sadly it's not a good moment for wacom formats.

The Slate is a low (ending) support, old device.

Inkspace App for desktop lives in its own world, have  this native format WIDD, undocumented, imports and exports these files but there isn't a dedicated channel on Inkspace Web, no way to see or to convert its files online.

Inkspace App for mobile doesn't import nothing, but exports WILL and has a channel on Inkspace Web, that exports WDF.

    Wacom Notes doesn't import nothing.

Bamboo paper imports WILL and all becomes raster.

There are web demos that (are supposed to) work only with basic formats like PROTO and UIM.

    As far as I know:

WILL2 is now obsolete, WILL3 has not yet been fully estabilished

WIDD is a text format (json-like), inside there is a "ink" string that is a base64 encoded PROTOBUF binary file

WILL is a zip file containing the old data structure, based on PROTOBUF  (so is possible to convert "easily" between WILL and WIDD)

WDF is a zip file but the internal structure is the new one (WILL3), based on UIM as data container.

In general is a common rule the backward compatibility, and usually there are conversion tools that help.

Wacom talks a lot about interoperability, the wacom native formats situation seems to be slightly confusing to me.

I hope that in the future there will be more possibilities, more capabilities in the wacom apps world.

I think that the web app should import from file (old and new formats) and export to inkML or other ink-specific formats.

    Hi Cesare Fanelli

Yes, the Inkspace desktop app has currently no cloud connection and is pretty much self contained. I don't think there are any plans to update and add new features for the time being.

If you have more questions about this technology, please check with the devs using the form here:https://developer-support.wacom.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Thanks for typing that for me. Not only withdrawing support but not even providing tools to do yourself what you paid for. Very bad for Wacom, as is your whole policy regarding the smartpads, and the stupid cables for screen tablets, like the Cintiq 13HD, that all need to be different. Very anti-consumer as is the refusal to provide a tool to replace the cloud sync you have removed. You made it, it is your format, why not allow us to convert, or let any other format into the Inkspace Desktop app.

Come to think of it, without good customer support and robust cloud services enhancing an innovative product you can rely on, it is time to give one of these many imitators a chance. At least they can learn from your mistakes. And why can't Ii register my smart pad if I want? I don't need the software bundle (you'll just deprecate it later) I just like my devices in one place, and if you will not allow that, please make it clear before I spend hours trying it anyway. With the Surface products, every other tablet and laptop with an active pen, not to mention the Apple Pencil, your easy ride is over and things like this will drive away consumers to the many, many competitors that have developed. You don't have the best software, hardware, support or prices.
