wacom intous pro M early model cannot connect to pc via bluetooth

I have an early model of the Wacom Intous Pro M (model PTH-651/K) which cannot connect to my windows PC via bluetooth. All drivers are up to date and I can connect any current bluetooth device without any trouble. Is it possible that the tablet no longer has bluetooth capability in windows 10?

The tablet is not connectd via USB cable, I press the radial button until the light flashes but windows only reports 'unknown device' and will not connect?

any suggestions?
