A bug identified in macOS 26.0, 26.1, and 26.2 prevented Wacom pens from clicking correctly on certain areas of the macOS user interface, such as System Settings and notifications.
To address this quickly, Wacom released a temporary workaround in driver versions 6.4.11-2 and 6.4.12-3. While this fixed the clicking issue, the workaround introduced a "drawing compromise": the pen would not immediately register input upon contact with the tablet surface, making it difficult to draw very small dots or fine details.
Apple has now officially resolved the root UI pen-click bug in macOS 26.3. Consequently, the temporary workaround is no longer required. Wacom is releasing Driver 6.4.13, which removes the workaround. This restoration ensures that pens register input the moment they touch the tablet surface while maintaining full clicking functionality across the macOS UI (provided you have updated your operating system).
Below is a helpful table showing which OS and drivers had the issue, and the workaround for each. We recommend updating to the latest version of macOS 26 and the latest Wacom driver to resolve both issues.
| 26 | 26.1 | 26.2 | 26.3 | 26.4 | |
| 6.4.11-1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 3 | 3 |
| 6.4.11-2 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2 |
| 6.4.12-3 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2 |
| 6.4.13-1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 3 | 3 |
