A recent MS Windows update is interfering with the Wacom Center firmware update, preventing the updater from running. A user can bypass the Wacom Center and select the Wacom Update Utility in the Windows Start menu to complete the update. Launching this manually will prompt an update to the firmware. Below are the steps to complete this workaround to update the firmware.
- Open Wacom Center and leave it open.
- Click on the Windows icon (Start Menu).
- Select the Wacom Tablet folder.
- Click Wacom Update Utility.
- Back inside the Wacom Center, click the setting icon (gear) in the upper right.
- Go to the Software Updates column and click Install update.
- Follow the instructions on screen to update the firmware.
