Hello, I'm also still waiting for the great fix, dear Wacom team, how much longer do we have to endure this problem? I really need my tablet and pen to work again!!

I also have the same problem, and it is very frustrating when you have to process 200 images for a customer, and constantly have to restart the driver because it crashes all the time. "Touch" constantly appears on the screen, then I know that the driver has restarted itself. But around 2-3 times an hour the driver will not restart itself. What I found out after a long time where I had to log out completely, then log in again. Is to put the Wacom Center down on the doc line. When it doesn't restart itself, I go to Wacom Center, "settings", "general settings" and press "restart driver". In most cases this fixes the problem and I can continue using the tablet. At least then I save a lot of time instead of constantly logging out and in. I have the latest driver installed and use MacOs Monterey.

This problem is so bad! My wacom cintiq isnt working with my mac on the new photoshop 24. Its driving me nuts. The driver disconnects and the photoshop freezes and i have to force quit it leaving my work loss.
Tried everything on internet but this is some problem with the driver not compatible with ps. Tried the oldest version of driver available so far it is working but i cant enable my onscreen shortcuts now. Such a loss after spending a fortune on cintiqs.

    Hello,

I'm following this thread as I just unboxed my wacom intuos Pro small today and I'm also having this issue.  Connected/disconnected "Touch on" message.

    Cheers!

Unfortunately you should return it. This bug is yet to be fixed. Only way around is turn off touch or just keep using mouse.

I found a fix to this bug. I did everything which was mentioned in this thread nothing worked for me. I just downloaded the oldest driver which was available on the wacom and its working fine for me now.

    Hello Mahnoor Ahmad,

Could you please share a link to this specific driver that you have downloaded? That would be great, thanks!

Mahnoor! Brilliant. That’s one of those things one overlooks. Will try this. Get conditioned not to look for previous versions because some companies remove them or they are incompatible with most current OS.

You can go to this very wacom website in support and from drivers you can have the option for the older version too. I downloaded the oldest driver available and its working fine with my os. I didnt upgraded to sonoma yet. But its working good for me on my m1 imac.

Just so that everyone is aware, using an older driver might cause other issues to appear so please be sure to check the release notes before you install an older driver.

This issue need to be fixed ASAP - my Wacom disconnects every 30-40 sec... makes it impossible to work..!??!!?

Yeah I downgraded to driver version 6.3.44-1 (2021) , I'm on iMac Pro running OS 13.6 and it's been working fine...so far.

Anyone here still looking for resolve, follow Mahnoor's advice and uninstall the current driver, go to wacom driver site and download an older driver/ run it instead.  Should've thought of that.

Please this needs to be sorted. If downgrading 2 years of drivers is the solution for the problem. I wonder what the driver development team has been doing on these last two years.

When this problem started, even though it was my Wacom, I used it every day and I had for a few years now, so I was like, fair enough.. maybe it's broken... and I got a new one! and the problem stayed, and I'm out 300£+

    This is just so annoying.

The CEO of wacom should notice this and do an update on his driver development team.

Everyone is already been really patient!

    Get your drivers together!

    This is shameful!

instead of telling us to update to the new driver, which makes things worse every time.. Update your driver team.. or use ChatGPT to make the drivers, probably will be better.

You are affecting the life of everyone! I will be looking for another tablet company if this thing continues.. it stresses me out!

We Make rockets that go to space and come back, but we can't make a tablet that stays ON for at least 8 hours!!!

Okay been too long now. Something’s definitely going on. This is no accident everyone is scratching their heads

Most people have found some workaround solution to this.  A few are in the thread.

I repeat what I said a few months ago. Here's what we know -

    1. This problem is new.
    2. It is not affected by the driver version you are using. It suddenly appeared even on older drivers, which were fine before. This is obviously very strange and implies there’s some other change been made by Wacom.
    3. It’s not affected by which Mac OS you’re running. I know this because I tried them. It’s root level in Wacoms software and probably has been sitting there for a while. When it first happened was still on Mojave I’ve got exactly the same problem, same symptoms everything

And it seems certain people at Wacom are not being frank.  Why is there suddenly a profound incompatibility between Wacom and its host Apple? Most creative users are Apple users, even today, so it’s crucial to Wacoms market, whether they realise it or not.

Potential conspiracy  theory stuff … tin foil hat on -

Apple is a secure OS, that unlike Windows historically attempts to protect its customers security and private usage information you might say “religiously”. This has (until recently) been demonstrated many times with legal statements and even negotiations.

The facts are that Wacom has a strange lack of ability to be open about to issue. Why? At this point it can't simply be that they are looking in the wrong place for a solution. The facts when you put them together do tend to lead to some suspicions

As one who has endured this situation for months, every new post on this thread gives rise to the hope that a courageous Wacom representative will deign offer an indication that, 1 - Wacom is aware that the problem HAS NOT been solved with the latest update and that, 2 - they are working on a stable and durable fix that we can hope to download in the next few days. Unfortunately, every new entry simply confirms the ongoing anger and frustration that is more and more present in the messages on this site.

Dear Wacom, if you do not yet have a solution to propose, at least show some respect to those who support your products by keeping them informed of the efforts you are deploying in order to make them function as they should. Is this too much to ask?

    Hi,

Just to be clear, Wacom is aware the issue is not solved and is actively working on it. The last update should have helped reducing the occurrence of the issue happening so I would still recommend using the latest version.

We are currently testing a solution which could hopefully solve the issue.

If you would like more details, you can reach out to the support team: https://support.wacom.com/hc/en-us/articles/4402518273943-How-do-I-contact-Wacom-Support-

Message well received, João. Your comment is well appreciated. I agree that the last update did improve things a bit, at least it did for me. My tablet disconnects less often than previously, I'd say once every half hour now, rather than every five minutes before. I may be wrong, but I seem to notice this improvement mostly since upgrading to MacOS Sonoma.

I hope your recent tests prove successful and that a permanent fix is in the works. Please keep us informed on your progress.

I've been on Mac OS Sonoma using driver vers 6.4.0-9 and it's been solid.  It's an older driver but no problems now.   Just letting folks know.  I had been using same version with Mojave for a week and going on almost another week with Sonoma.

Running this update since 15 minutes and it's unbelievable how poor the responsible Wacom driver dev team is in terms of programming skills and quality assurance:

    1. Contextual menu via Option-Click is not working anymore

    2. Selecting multiple elements with Shift-Click is not working anymore

No tablet disconnects yet. But for the price of the above bugs which are even worse? Unbelievable.

Also, it seems that something is now wrong with keyboard input. I have to hit some keys multiple times until they register. Guess I will soon revert back to driver 6.4.3-2.

    Hi Philippe Wiede

I had the same issue after the driver install but a restart fixed it.

Can you please try for your end as well? Generally, it's always a good idea to reboot after upgrading any software in general.

    Cheers

    Hi João

Thanks, will try a reboot later.

Driver 6.4.4-2 does not solve anything, after about 2-3 hours it crashes. The pen doesn't crash as much anymore, but still this bug hasn't been fixed, only reduced. The driver just shuts down after a few hours and the Mac has to be restarted. You can restart the driver in the Application/Wacom Tablet/.Tablet folder.

This is a disaster update. I shut down and restarted (to clean all caches) and reset the Wacom preferences. But all mentioned bugs are still there with MacOS Monterey. Rolled back to Wacom Tablet 6.4.3-2 and SHIFT and OPTION keys work again. Seriously, Wacom seem to be in big trouble with Apple Silicon computers and their OSes. At least one year has passed and their dev team have been unable to achieve operational stability for the tablet driver. And other serious Touch bugs with Mojave etc. and Intel Macs took ages to be resolved, if at all.

Glad I found this thread. My problems don't seem as severe as you guys. My pen only stops working after my computer has been asleep for more than a couple of hours. I have to have an old mouse attached, so I can restart my computer each time it happens. I have the latest driver installed and I'm on Ventura, too scared to update to Sonoma incase it makes it worse. I had wondered if I needed a new Wacom Tablet, but obviously not, reading that other's have already made that mistake.  Look forward to seeing a final fix to this problem.

    Hi jarda dřevo

Thanks for sharing. You can also restart the driver from the Wacom Center:

    Hi Philippe Wiede

I managed to replicate the Modifier issue (Shift, Command, Control not working) again with 6.4.4-2 after the initial restart.

I recovered from it with the following steps:

    1. Open Privacy and security > Input monitoring
    2. Disable WacomTabletDriver
    3. Restart Driver from Wacom Center
    4. Prompt will ask to reactivate WacomTabletDriver under Input monitoring
    5. Go back to Input monitoring and enable WacomTabletDriver
    6. Restart driver from Wacom Center again

After doing this, the issue didn't appear again after other reboots. I am running an M2 chip MacBook with Sonoma.

Just to be clear, are you still seeing the "Touch ON/OFF" message popping up?
