    Hi Steve Jones

    Could you provide more details:

    • OS version
    • Driver version
    • Wacom device

Since I don't know much about your set-up I would suggest that you start here: https://support.wacom.com/hc/en-us/articles/8810276474775-Pen-input-or-touch-input-does-not-work-as-expected

A wild guess: that error message could mean that either there is an issue within the system causing the driver to crash, or a hardware issue with the tablet, generating corrupt data and causing a crash.

If you can, the quickest way to check if it is one or the other, is to test your tablet with a different cable, adapter, or even computer (this would be very important).

    Following this thread.
FYI, I'm experiencing the same issue on my OS Sonoma 14.0, driver version 6.4.4-2 and device PTH-651. Tried uninstalling, restarting, reinstalling, restarting and the error persists. Tried both cable and wireless adapter.

Steve - Have you tried uninstalling the current driver and downloading & installing the previous version 6.4.3-2?  I have been having problems with my Intuos Pro since the update, tried a bunch of different things and nothing worked aside from going back to the previous driver.

    Hi Steve Jones

I see you had a ticket back in April 2022 where you were already reporting intermittent Touch issues. I have seen this before and I am pretty sure your tablet touch sensor is probably defective. I see you already an a current open ticket. Someone will follow up with you soon.

    Hi Israel Silva

Seems like you also already tried the recommended steps to solve the issue but I think you are probably in the same situation as Steve. Since you don't have an open ticket, please contact your regional support directly:

    Hi Morgan Turner

There are other threads for recent issues with the latest Mac OS driver. Please check one of those to see if that helps. Generally speaking, it is not recommended to install an older driver but if that helps you get back to work, please make sure you keep an eye out on the driver page for newer releases.

There will probably be a new release for Mac OS within this week to address some of the new issues.

Thanks to all for your responses. I'll await the follow up from Wacom.

Further to the above, how long will this take? My Wacom keeps crashing and, as I said, I have a very pressing deadline - ie: tomorrow!

Chiming in by saying that the latest Wacom drivers have been giving me the exact same problem as others on this thread. I'm running on a M1 MacBook Pro 14" model, macOS Sonoma 14.0. I'm using a Wacom 27QHD (non-touch) model. I hope the solution comes soon. My tablet cuts out and cuts in as I am trying to use it.

I have the same problem with my Sonoma 14.0 (23A344) Wacom installation with the latest sw.

Sorry to hear I'm not alone with this. I'm having an absolute nightmare: my Wacom is constantly crashing, making work take much, much longer than it should. Now, to top it all off, ALL of my artwork files have disappeared from their usual home in Finder. Managed to track them down but, for the time being, have had to drop them onto the desk top. I hasten to add I have iCloud and an external HD as belt and braces back up - just as well - but, despite Wacom's assurances that this isn't update related, I don't think it's a coincidence. Recent files have also dropped off my Clip Studio Paint software and even my screen saver has disappeared! Can anybody suggest another reason for all of this? (Genuine question.) Life is stressful enough as it is...

    Hi Steve Jones

Not sure what is going on with your system, but the Wacom driver cannot move or delete files by itself.

Did you try what I suggested in my previous replies already?

I must just be very unlucky, then. As I mentioned earlier, I had a deadline to meet so I've concentrated on that. I've made one attempt to follow the site's instructions and failed at the first hurdle, so I'm meeting an IT consultant  - I'm a cartoonist, not a computer wizard! - who will hopefully sort this mess out. Fed up, to put it mildly, and despite having this Wacom for only a year or two, seriously considering making an iPad my next purchase.

    Hi Steve Jones

I understand and I am sorry this is causing so much stress. I have been there and I know it's not easy to juggle work dead lines and technical issues at the same time.

PS: If there's a driver update due any day now, wouldn't it be better if I waited for that, rather than go through the palaver of uninstalling the the latest driver and reinstalling an older version?

    Steve Jones

I am not sure if all the issues you listed are driver related, but the situation will probably improve with the next version. I would just recommend to rule out any hardware issues in the meantime.

The other issues have been resolved and you're right, they probably weren't caused by the driver update. (You can understand my cynical train of thought at the time though!) I'm actually going away for a few days - not because of this! - and will hopefully resolve the update problems upon my return. For the moment I've just had enough. Thanks for the input, everyone.

    Hi Steve Jones

It's is great to read that some of the issues are now solved. For the driver issues, we are working on it.

Have a safe trip wherever you are headed.

I've had the same problems all day today. I just updated to Mac OS Sonoma, updated the Wacom driver to 14.4.4-2 this morning. I have a DTH-2420 on a M1 Mac Mini.  The tablet is usable, but three times today I've gotten a message saying "Wacom Center is no longer open" All three times it was while I wasn't using the tablet, but doing other work on my computer (email, Safari, etc.) and the message would pop up. Two times I had to restart my computer and the last time, I restarted the app and on the third time, after what seemed to be about five minutes of "synchronizing", the Wacom Center finally pulled up and the tablet was functioning again.

Chiming in to say that I have had the same problem with the "The application 'WacomTouchDriver' is not open anymore." I've tried updating the driver and it looks like it updates, I restart the computer, aaaand nothing. It still shows I need a driver update and still keep getting the message. Rinse. Repeat. It's really annoying. Aside from the annoyance of the crashing, I'm teaching online and hate that this Wacom message keeps popping up on the middle of my screen when I'm in Zoom. I'm on OS 13.5.2 on a MacBook Pro and have a Wacom One.

    Hi Heather Dega

Please refer to the work around mentioned here and roll back the driver: https://support.wacom.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/18519752253207--Main-post-Mac-OS-Modifiers-Shift-Command-Control-click-not-working-with-pen-clicks-after-6-4-4-2

You should also follow that post. I will update it once there is a new driver release to address these issues. You can ignore the driver update notification in the Wacom Center for now.

    Hi João

Thanks so much for this! I've installed the older driver and so far so good! I'm not getting the message anymore. I've followed the other post so hopefully when the driver is updated, it will work as well

Hello all. Having the same issues. Running OSX 12.7.1. Tried the latest driver, and some previous ones. Its going in and out of function. It lags. then snaps into it, so my 3d camera just flips out when navigating and I can see why other folks files are misplaced since the hardware works intermittently and is glitching. I have used a Wacom since 2006 and it has always been a must have tool. Now its become a huge nuisance. WACOM!!!!!?!?! please figure this out.

Same problem... Since updating to Sonoma 14.0 my Intuos Pro Medium is turning on and off ALL THE TIME!

And I also get the message “The application 'WacomTouchDriver' is not open anymore" a lot.

And maybe worst off all, the shortcuts CTRL+OPT for changing brush size in PS is not working with the tablet. Only when I use mouse or trackpad.

Been working over hours since updating..

I've returned after a few days away to work, luckily involving the more trustworthy pen and paper (!) and rather hoped this issue would have been sorted by the time I needed to use my Wacom again. Fat chance. I've now been informed that I have no connection at all, so WTF am I supposed to do now???

PLEASE sort out this utter shambles, Wacom..
