Is there a way to stop my Intuos drivers from auto-updating?
Hey everyone,
I'm having an issue with my Intuos tablet drivers constantly updating on their own. It’s driving me nuts because every time they update, it messes up my settings and I have to go through the whole setup process again. 😤
It's an older Intuos model, but it still works like a charm and I don't want to mess with anything. Does anyone know if there’s a way to stop the drivers from auto-updating or at least get more control over it? I’m on Windows 11 Pro [23H2] and i have a The Intuos PTH-650 works perfectly with the WacomTablet_6.3.46-2 driver, but it keeps updating to version WacomTablet_6.4.2-3, if that helps.
I was thinking of blocking all wacom sites from the etc host file, is that necessary? this is really annoying.
Any tips would be awesome! Thanks!

Hi Yerson Retamal,
Usually the Wacom driver only Auto-updates if you set Windows to do so.
Please check the options below and disable the auto-update from the Windows Update Settings

João, first off, I really want to thank you for taking the time to look into my case… I really appreciate it!
Yesterday, my tablet driver updated again, and it was a total mess. Today, I uninstalled the new driver and reinstalled the old one, and everything started working again. After that, I went to check out the optional updates you mentioned, but I can’t find any way to disable the driver updates; it’s only showing optional Windows updates, nothing else. Thanks again for trying to help.
Wishing you all the best!0 -
Hi Yerson Retamal,
You're most welcome.
I know there are other ways to stop drivers from auto updating, but this requires more fiddling with Windows and this is already out of my depth. Please check with Microsoft directly.
