Cintiq Pro 32 display no longer recognized
On Mac OS 15.3.1, my Cintiq 32 stopped being recognized as a pen display. It worked fine (most likely) until I updated the OS. When I run the configuration utility now, it throws the following error:
Wacom Display Settings Error
There is a known error in communication with the display. CintiqPro32PT Please turn your tablet off and back on, then rerun this program.
Please help fixing this.

Hi Hans-Christoph Hoppe,
Thanks for reaching out. Welcome to the community.Just to be clear, do you still get an image on the display itself, or is there also no image?
Does the Cintiq Pro 32 appear in the Wacom Center?
Please note that the Wacom Display Settings is only to control the display related settings like brightness and contrast.
To change the settings of the pen and touch input, you need to do this through the Wacom Center. These 2 functions - Display + Pen & Touch input - work independent from each other so it is important to understand what is working for you and what isn't.

The display works and apple recognizes it as a Wacom Cintiq 32, but the Wacom driver will not. So the pen does not work.

It doesn't appear in the Wacom Center.

Hi Hans-Christoph Hoppe,
This means that there is a problem with the USB connection. Please try a different USB port and/or different USB cable.0 -
Hello,
I'm experiencing a similar issue with my Cintiq Pro 32. The device appears to be communicating properly with my MacBook Pro—the drivers load correctly, touch input works, and the system detects the Cintiq as an external display (both extended and mirrored modes are available). I'm also able to change resolutions from macOS.
However, the Cintiq’s screen remains completely black, the power button is unresponsive, and the power LED does not light up.
I’ve tried multiple troubleshooting steps, including purchasing a new power adapter, but it seems to be a display or power issue preventing the screen from turning on.
The only error I get is when I try to run the Adjusting Display Settings inside the Wacom Center Software:
"Communication failure... exiting there was an error talking to the display cintiqpro32pt"
Followed by:
"Compatible display device not found to use this app please connect a compatible display device such as a cintiq or mobilestudio pro"I reached out to Wacom’s service center in Mexico City (I'm based in Guadalajara), but I was told that the repair cost would be so high that it might be better to buy a new unit. Unfortunately, I can't afford a new Cintiq Pro 27 at the moment.
Could you please help me? Even if official repair isn’t an option, I’d greatly appreciate any guidance you can provide—such as internal diagrams, safe disassembly instructions, or any tips to help a qualified local repair technician diagnose and fix the issue.
Thank you in advance for your support.
Best regards,
