    Hi Frans Strous

Support for Wacom Intuos Pro 2013 is discontinued after the latest driver but you can still download and install driver 6.4.9 from our website:

Joao, I'm in the same position. I'm in the middle of retouching a job that requires a large amount of Wacom pen work and to suddenly have the Wacom not work because Wacom decided to suddenly stop supporting a professional model is, honestly, not very professional. Additionally, I was using the Wacom yesterday with no problems and did not update the OS, Photoshop or the Wacom driver between yesterday and today. Infact the OS was updated several weeks ago, so I'm not sure why my Wacom suddenly stopped working. I cannot revert to Sonoma because other databases and software, particularly Capture One, have already been updated and those databases cannot be reverted back.

That link you provided above does not lead a page to download 6.4.9, but to 6.4.11-2. Can you provide a solution asap as we are professionals and need to deliver jobs to clients and dont have time to wait for new tablets to be shipped to us.

    Hi Nick Burchell

    Sorry for not being clear.
You have to select your product to get the previous driver versions:

Thanks Joao. I eventually figured it out. Yeah, you know, clarity in your position as a support agent is incredibly important. We're busy creatives out here and when the tools of our trade stop working, it adds to what is already an incredibly high pressure, fast deadline environment. We're here for help. This isnt just you, it's all tech companies. You're on your site all the ime so know your way around them, but as tech sites have to hold more and more information, they become incredibly difficult for your customer, who hopefully only visit them once or twice a year, to navigate. It's a lot...

For anyone else in this situation, I was able to delete the brand new driver, download 6.4.9, and get my PTH-651 working. However, afetr speaking to support, it looks like this is likely not to last. Hopefully long enough to get this job out, but I (we) will have to buy new tablets. Sucks, but I know from other developers how terrible Apple are to work with. I do with there was a way for Wacom to give us a heads up say 1 generation before obsolecense

Thanks Joao. I eventually figured it out. Clarity in your support role is crucial. We’re busy creatives, and when our tools fail, it adds to the high-pressure, fast-deadline environment. We’re here for help. This isn’t just you; it’s all tech companies. You’re on your site all the time, so know your way around them. However, as tech sites hold more information, they become difficult for customers to navigate, especially those who visit them infrequently.

For others in this situation, I deleted the new driver, downloaded 6.4.9, and got my PTH-651 working. But after speaking to support, it seems this won’t last. Hopefully, it’ll last long enough to finish this job, but we’ll have to buy new tablets. It’s unfortunate, but I know from other developers how terrible Apple is to work with. I wish Wacom could have given us a heads up a generation before obsolescence, but....

Unfortunately, the ‘old’ driver no longer works on Mac OS X 26.

In my opinion, this is simply forced obsolescence. When OpenTabletDriver supports the Wacom PTH-651 on Mac OS X 26, there’s no reason for Wacom not be able to, other than a deliberate decision to exclude hardware.

    Disappointing, but that‘s ‘progress’.

Unfortunately, it’s nothing new. I’ve been using Wacom tablets for over 30 years and this is the 4th time a perfectly working tablet I use has become unusable because of software updates.

If it were cheap tablets I could somewhat understand Wacom can’t pay for updates for decades, but the PTH-651 cost € 300. Earlier models were even more expensive.

I bought a new Medium Pro a few months back, but I returned it, because it has less features with every update: No Touch functionality, smaller pen area. No mouse available.

    It’s not an update, it’s a downgrade.

When the 651 driver kicks the bucked, I’ll buy the non-pro version or a cheaper brand.
