Wacom tablet is not connecting to my MacBook Pro with Os Tahoe
Hi everyone,
I have two UX designers that uses MacBook Pro m3: Latest OS Tahoe
They both use Wacom tablets. Once the tablet is connected with a wire it works but as soon as they remove it to go to a meeting and come back, it will not connect. We have to reinstall the drivers before it will connect to the Wacom. This keeps on happening for both designers. What can we do?

Hi Theresa Barnard,
Can you tell me exactly what they are doing? Are they removing the tablet and closing the lid of the Mac?
Would a simple driver restart from the Wacom Center work to get the tablets to reconnect?
How are they physically connected? Directly to the Mac, via hub, or Bluetooth?

If we have meetings we have to close the laptop and unplug it from the monitor and docking station. Then the wacom is unplugged. When we return, you can not get the wacom to work again. Even if you restart the drivers I have followed all the videos and settings. Nothing works. We have two options:
Work: Wacom is plugged into the monitor. Mac is also plugged into the monitor
Home: We use a docking station. USB C port to the mac, this also has a usb port for the wacom. Everything is plugged into the Mac.
Both situation deliver the same results. You have to reinstall the drivers, otheriwse it will not work.
The bluetooth works but the wacom does not last a long time and needs to be charged, as soon as we use the cable the driversa has to be installed again.0 -
Hi Theresa Barnard,
Thanks a lot for clarifying the situation. The reason I asked is because there is current a known issue where the driver is not able to run properly after the computer has been put to sleep. Normally that is what happens when you close the lid. The team is working with Apple to resolve this issue.
Also since you are using proxy connections (monitor USB at work and dock at home), I would like to ask if the same happens when you simple connect the the Wacom tablets directly to the Mac computer, without any adapters in between.

We can not do this because the Wacom tablet has a usb A wire and that is not supported on a mac, only usb c port0 -
I suspected as much. Would you be able to borrow a USB-C in the office and test?

I'm having the same problem, cannot use bluetooth it doesn't work, have to plug the tablet into my mac. The driver synchronization only connects after multiple tries and there is not rhyme or reason for the times it connects. If I shut down the computer or put it to sleep the connection is lost and the drivers don't work when I resume drawing. This is very frustrating.

Hi Liz DeLassus,
There is a know bug where the Wacom Driver is not able to properly resume working from a Sleep state on Mac OS. Rebooting the Mac or restarting the driver from the Wacom Center should help the driver start working again.
This has been reported to Apple.
