Intuos Pro Touch freezes and touch clicking sometimes fails to work
I have regular problems with my 2017 style Intuos pro touch freezing the mouse randomly in place despite me moving my finger. And sometimes it doesn't click things when I click on them. Although this doesn't happen constantly, I experience both of these errors at least every 5 minutes (conservative estimate) and it can render a session of editing a headache. When it works properly, it's a dream and I know what it's like when it's operating properly. But these errors happening very frequently at random times is such a headache. It happens with 2 different Intuos pro's. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Wacom driver/app and even system restored my PC with not luck of fixing this.
It's almost worse that sometimes it clicks and sometimes it doesn't because everytime I click something I'm left to wonder if it will work or not and it's just not a pleasure. Anyways thanks for reading any assistance would be great, I'll try anything to solve this.

Hi Brett Mansfield,
Thanks for reaching out.
Can you please confirm your operating system? Does this freeze occur with a particular app or system wide?
Anything else you can provide as detail would be helpful as well. Most freezes and issues with input can occur in situations of high CPU load.

I use Windows 11 and it is system wide. My computer is a very capable one yet it happens with simple web browsing(and nothing else open). For example, navigating to this post using my Intuos Pro was such a headache. In fact even during typing this it happened several times, as I fixed my grammar. I don't know what it is but I do know that it isn't CPU or GPU load as things are under the 5% total load from task manager's point of view.

I'm experiencing this as well. The pen works fine, but using the surface as a trackpad to move the mouse cursor is unreliable. For instance, when moving the mouse cursor from one side of the screen to the other by running my finger across the Intuos, the mouse movement usually stops abruptly part-way through the move gesture, and it won't resume until I pick up my finger and start again. And sometimes, it takes several tries before it starts tracking my finger movement again. This happens without any apps running, right on the Windows 11 desktop. It makes me wonder if maybe the Intuos driver thinks it detected a second finger being placed on the surface, causing it to about the normal cursor movement gesture. Maybe, for larger fingers, it incorrectly detected multiple fingers.

Hi Keith Frechette,
Can you please check if everything is working as intended from software side?

I have the exact same issue on pro large touch from2017 .
If you want the touchpad to behave correctly , you have to use a verry light pressure , pressing just a bit harder stops the cursor .
I bet there is a pressure calibration issuei’ve noticed lots of people have this isse and also the hanging mouse cursorwhen using the pen , otoh there are qlo those who don’t have those issue .
could it be that the last batch of intuos pro’s large had technical hardware issues ?
if so , wacom should aknowledge this , the silence on their part is verry frustrating.
i
I can’t recommend this brand anymore
