Wacom CTL-6100WL acting strange

For the past few days, my Wacom CTL-6100WL has suddenly started acting very strangely. From one moment to the next. Sometimes it responds as it should, but shortly afterwards it goes wrong again: dragging when it shouldn't and not (double) clicking when it should. Updating didn't help. System: Sonoma 14.1 (IMac). Adjusting the pen settings also does not provide the desired result. Should I buy a new tablet or does that make no sense?
