Wacom Driver Keeps Stopping / Disconnecting
I have been using my Intuos CTH-490 for the last 3 years without any issue, and recently the driver began to stop for no reason. It gives me no warning when it does, and I only notice it when the pen stop working. Then I have to disconnect the USB Cable and connect again so it starts working again, until it stops again later. I did try all the suggested methods posted here regarding this issue on Windows OS (mine is 10), like doing a clean driver installation (6.4.6-2), privacy and security checks, service.msc force restart of driver, verifier.exe to check for issues, complete check for any registry errors, checked windows update too. I noticed how many people were complaining about this about one year ago, how this issue was not fixed yet? How can I trust a product that stops working randomly?

Hi Ronivan Fontanez,
Such crashes can be related to pretty much anything. To narrow down the issue, please check steps below:
- Unplug the tablet
- Uninstall the driver - https://support.wacom.com/hc/en-us/articles/1500006264601-How-do-I-uninstall-and-re-install-the-Wacom-driver-on-Windows-for-a-Pen-Tablet-Pen-Display-or-Pen-Computer
- Reboot
- Reinstall the latest driver version (6.4.7-3) from here: https://www.wacom.com/en-de/support/product-support/drivers
- Reboot
- Plug the tablet back in
If the problem persists, please check the event viewer:
If you find the reason for the crash (usually a .dll or similar file) please let us know the error code or contact our support team directly.
You can also capture the driver logs and share with our support team: https://support.wacom.com/hc/en-us/articles/10010268158103-I-want-to-report-a-driver-bug-How-do-I-collect-Wacom-driver-logs
