the pen confuses the personalized settings among apps
Hi you all,
I have a wacom intuos pro small. I need to use it for professional purposes and I switch among apps such as affinity suite, 3d, cads and so on. So I personalized the behaviour of the pen accordingly to the use of the specific software, in order to use only the pen and abolish the mouse.
Lately, I am becoming crazy when I work on Blender because I have set the bottom click of the pen as "middle click", and the pen seems "confused" and 70% of times perform a right click, not a middle click.
I don't know what do to to avoid these problems. Suggestions?
Thank you.

Hi Virginia Lorello,
That is very interesting behaviour. Generally, these settings are not intermittent. They either work all the time or they don't.
- Which Operating system and Wacom driver version are you using?
- Does this happen on the first click when moving to Blender from another app?
- If yes, how are you switching apps? By clicking or using Alt + Tab?

Yes, it is strange indeed. I have this tablet since 2019 and it never happened.
- windows 10. Wacom intuos pro small
- it happens while using Blender. I switch between apps while modeling, but the problem is not right after that. Sometimes it is after one click (keystrokes), sometimes is after I zoom with the other command of the pen
- I switch with clicks, never with keystrokes

Hi Virginia Lorello,
Are these settings bound to a specific set of keys on your Intuos Pro? Could this be a hardware issue with the key itself not registering the input correctly? Can you specific what is the expected action when to activate and what actually happens?
I think it would also help if you could make a video of the issue and share with the support team. https://support.wacom.com/hc/en-us/articles/4402518273943-How-do-I-contact-Wacom-Support

Hi Joao and thank you.
My normal settings are to have the "right click" on the first button for most of the apps. Only blender has a different behaviour. And it is like at a certain point, after some zooming (with the other buttons) or other clicks
(with keyboards), it "forget" the app in which I am and uses the right click.

Hi Virginia Lorello,
The driver won't forget but it can be somehow be tricked into thinking Blender is not the active App.Can you please make the video and collect the logs and contact the support team? I think this would really help understand what causes this.

Hi Joao, yes I can try, but how to show which button I am clicking? Is there some free app that shows the click on the screen?

It would be better if you could capture your interaction fully, like a Birdseye view.

thank you. Done, I am going to open a ticket

sometimes it happens after I click on TAB on my keyboard. But TAB is essential in Blender works. Don't understand.
Edit: I tried from Automatic to Wintab in the setting below. Same error

I don't think that would have any influence. If the driver is using different settings, it means that the app that the Operating System thinks is active is a different one (the Wacom driver receives this information from the Operating System). The logs and video should provide more clarity. I would also recommend that you check with the Blender devs and this seems like something they would like to be aware.

The support answered to me to restard the driver after a trouble-check. It seems to work!!
Thank you so much Joao
