Intermittent non-responsive clicks on MacOS especially with Affinity Photo running

For the last 3 driver versions there has been an intermittent problem on MacOS where the clicks are not registered, or the movement pauses and jumps.

Current driver us 6.4.2-4 on MacOS 13.4 in an M1 iMac.

The problem is correlated with the Affinity Photo app v2.1 from the Apple Store.  When this app is running, even in the bacxkground, the problem is very much worse.

To be clear, the problem happens with ANY app in the foreground - MS Word, Chrome, Firefox, or the MacOS Desktop / Finder.

We have worked with Affinity tech support and they are convinced the problem is with the Wacom driver.

We are disappointed because we've been using Wacom pen tablets for about 20 years and have seen the driver quality drop drastically over the time.

  We have not seen any bug reports related to Affinity so far. What you describe is usally more related with a hardware issue rather than software but if you think you have found a bug, please follow the steps here so we can investigate:

  Hi João - thanks for your feedback.

   

  Would it be a hardware issue of one software (Affinity Photo) seems to make the problem worse? To me that sounds like a software issue, where a hardware issue would effect all apps?

   

  We will run the log-collector as you suggest as soon as it is convenient.

  Maybe I misunderstood, but since you said this happens with all apps but more with Affinity, I would definitely not exclude a potential hardware issue.

  If it really is just with Affinity and/or only when Affinity is running in the background, then yes, that would be a software issue for sure.
