Wacom driver keeps disconnecting / touch turns off
Hello,
My wacom driver keeps disconnecting and I have to restart my computer 4-5x a day while I'm working. It doesn't re-connect until I restart my computer. The touch also turns on and off and sometimes stops working as well. It's really annoying because the only way for it to work again is to restart my computer.
I have a Intuos small pro PTH-460 and I'm on macOS Monterey 12.6.6
I have the 2nd latest driver installed. I've worked directly with Wacom support and have manually uninstall and re-installed multiple times, but nothing is fixing the issue. It's really frustrating that no one can solve this issue..hoping other people have the same issue and have found a solution.

Hi Nguyen Le,
Please see my comment above to solve this issue.

I can't restart the tablet from Wacom Center because the app won't start! The system just pops up a window saying that the tablet driver is disabled!
I have to restart the mac, or restart the driver in a hidden folder( description in the last thread)
Intuos PRO works last time in HighSierra. Yet the PTK-440 has no problems in Monterey, it just doesn't do it.0 -
Hi jarda dřevo,
Ok. Sorry, to many things happening at the moment and I forgot that detail.

I tried the instructions just above. After I disable (uncheck) the Wacom driver in Privacy-Security >Input Monitoring and then go to the Wacom Center, it won't restart the driver. It says Waiting for Sync and finally says Driver Not Responding; Please restart Wacom Center. I go to the Application folder and do that but it still gives the same messages. It does not ask me to go back to reactivate the driver.
What can I do now?
Can I just uninstall the driver (HOW, PLEASE...) and download it again and start over? HOW DO I KNOW I HAVE THE RIGHT DRIVER FOR MY TABLET? It says PTH-660. The driver I just downloaded is 6.4.4-2.

Installed the latest driver. The driver quit every 5 minutes. And Ctrl-click etc. not working.
Just did what you mentioned above. Doesn't restart anymore.
Ctrl-click (and Shift, Command, Alt still not working anywhere on my Mac, Ventura 13.6

and there we go again after 25 min.

I have the exact same issue. I have tried adding every possible Wacom driver, utility and program into the input monitoring/full disk access. I've tried restarting and re-installing the newest Wacom driver, as well as rebooting my computer (MacOS Sonoma 14.0). Yet the tablet won't even last half an hour without crashing, and the dreaded "touch driver not open anymore" popup appears every time.
As many of us will know, these problems have been present long before the latest MacOS software update. The "Touch On" popup appearing regularly as the tablet switches on and off during use has become a regular occurrence in my case.
It is a relief to know that this appears to be an issue with the Wacom driver as opposed to any hardware I own (I have tried this with two separate Wacom Intuos Pro tablets and have experienced the same bugs), but even so, the fact that this has been a recurring issue for months, which gets progressively worse with each driver update instead of better, is a real shame.

I have been struggling with these same issues for many months now... maybe more than a year. I've lost track. It's miserable.
I downloaded driver 6.4.4-2 a couple of days ago and became unable to use modifier keys. I went back to driver 6.4.1 and that problem went away, but I was back to constant disconnections.
I saw the new instructions above, so I upgraded again to 6.6.4 and followed the steps, but it didn't help at all.

Hi Diane Miller,
You have the right driver. If you see the error message Driver not Responding, please follow the steps here:
We are aware of the current bugs with the latest driver and trying to fix it.
