Wacom Cintiq 27 screen first shows vertical lines and now remains completely black
Hello everyone,
I have several problems with my Wacom Cintiq 27" QHD since yesterday.
At first, it only showed very lightly vertical stripes when using the pen - and the pen often forgot its pressure sensitivity settings during use.
I turned off the Cintiq and restarted it later in the day. The lines didn't appear, but the Cintiq got stuck on the start screen. It only showed the Wacom logo very faintly on the display, but did not show my main screen.
So I shut down the computer again – and suddenly the graphics tablet displayed everything normally and without stripes.
The next time I started it up, it looked like this (even worse):

Unfortunately, it got even worse. Now the Cintiq just stays dark 😥
The little icons in the top right corner of the frame light up, and I can use them to bring up the Wacom Center start screen. But when I go to display settings, for example, I get a message saying that no tablet is connected or that the setting is not available for all models:

I have already tried the following:
.-The pen still works on the cintiq and its movements are displayed on my main monitor. But the cintiq screen remains black.
- I also connected it to a laptop, but the display remained dark.
- I have read from other users that the backlight may be defective. And that you can determine this by shining a light on the switched-on display - you should then be able to see the desktop very faintly. Unfortunately, I cannot see this on mine.
- Uninstalled and reinstalled the Wacom driver (6.4.10-3).
- Checked the graphics card driver
- Reconnected the existing cables -> Some of the metal from the HDMI cable/display port cable is visible. Is this normal, or do they need to be flush? I couldn't move the cables any further. I also replaced all the cables, as I still had an original second set of HDMI, DisplayPort and USB cables.
I've been using it for 11 years with a Desktop-PC (Windows 10 Home, nVidia Geforce GTX 1050Ti) and it has worked perfectly so far.
Is there anything else I can try to save my cintiq?
Thanks for your help.

Hi Tina Lucht,
Is there another computer you can use to test?
It would be good to rule out any potential issues with the graphics card. If the same happens with a different computer, then the Cintiq 27QHD might be on it's last breath. However, this you can still see the Wacom Logo on boot, there is still hope...The cables seem to be in good condition but you might want to consider replacing the HDMI cable just to be sure as well.

Hi João,
thank you for your quick response and suggestions.
I have already tried the options you mentioned, but unfortunately they were unsuccessful.
The Cintiq no longer displays the Wacom logo either. It just stays black after switching it on.
However, pen movements are still transmitted to the PC monitor. The pressure sensitivity also still works.I have read in several posts that the 27" QHD model is often affected by a defect in the chip or capacitors. Is mine now part of this long list of broken Cintiqs? And is there nothing that can be done about it?

Hi Tina Lucht,
If you don't see the Wacom logo, this means the device is defective. The Cintiq is made of many different components which can all eventually fail.
Unfortunately this model has not been in service for a while and can no longer be repaired. If you would be interested in an new Cintiq, please let the support team know and they will help you.
