Firmware fails to install
Every week I get told there is a firmware update. I download it and I begin the install. It puts up a screen that says not to disconnect my PTH-660. Then in a few moments, I hear the tablet disconnect. (At least windows makes that sound when you unplug something.) And then it says it failed and to disconnect and reconnect and then try again. Of course the firmware update is no where to be found after that. And then a few days pass and there it is again. And the same thing continues to happen. Is this firmware really for my tablet, I begin to wonder?
I had the tablet plugged directly into the back of the pc into a usb 3. Today I switched it to a usb 2. But that made no difference.
Any advice?

Hi,
We are aware of some issues where a false flag is put on the update helper. You will see there is an update available, even if the update is already installed.
For now, this is safe to ignore. The Developers are investigating the issue. There are currently no new updates planned for the Intuos Pro so rest assured you are not missing out on anything.

When I click the button to update it just does nothing. I see the button 'Install update' (for firmware on Intuos Pro M PTH-660).

Hello Mister João,
How long to your developpers to fix it?
You said one year ago that they investigate this issue which is not yet fixed.
It's quite annoying.

Same here Mister João,
Still waiting for a fix for the false flag firmware update issue. (PTH-660) Because of that we can not save or restore tablet buttons preferences.
It's quite annoying.

Hi everyone,
Pretty sure this issue was fixed in one of the updates since my last post. Can you confirm which driver versions and operating systems you are running?
It would also be helpful if you could report this to the support team directly: https://support.wacom.com/hc/en-us/articles/10010268158103-I-want-to-report-a-driver-bug-How-do-I-collect-Wacom-driver-logs
Also Guy Carignan, firmware versions and backing up or restoring settings should never interfere with each other.

Hello João
Pilot version : 3.8.10.63
Operating System : Windows 11 Pro 23H2 64 bits
Application for installation : WacomTablet_6.4.6-1.exe
In Wacom logs (for ie. Wacom-04-30-2024-at-0914-FWUpdater.txt), it says something like this :
20240430,09:14:55.016 -- 16920/04336 -- [W] GetAttributes: WARNING: could not open devicepath; err: 5
So, I just wanted to mention that nothing has been fixed so far for me.
Also, I just click on install driver, than I don't touch anything. I just wait the message that says upgrade failed.
I checked the link you gave and activated driver logging. Will see what happens next time it wants to upgrade.
Thanks for your time.
Kind Regards,
Alain
