    Hi Entrance 1514

Sorry to read that you have been have a bad experience for a long time.

However, the bug being discussed in this thread is a Mac OS (not Windows) bug that appeared recently.

From your comment, I can see you are using Windows so I can confidently say, this is 100% not related.

What you most likely have is a hardware issue with your tablet circuit board and / or touch sensor. I would recommend you contact your local support to learn what the warranty/repair options are. Be aware that if the button is damaged as you imply, this will not be covered by any warranty.

I used to be a software engineer and I know exactly what is software and what is hardware. When I physically destroy the hardware, the only thing that can mess up is a short circuit. Unfortunately, the pen function still works, as do all 8 keys. (Now there are only six left. Doing nothing is of little use anyway).

    Guess what,

when I restarted "WTabletServicePro", everything was back. But when I destroyed the hardware, everything was still hysterical, and the damn prompt was flashing in the center of the screen from time to time.

This is a complete software problem. Because it is impossible for a hardware problem to appear on two physical devices at two different physical locations from three different sources at the same time.

And this problem until I hope updating the driver will solve it. It can still barely maintain a problem around once an hour. After the update, you can imagine your work object constantly blinking ON/OFF/ON/OFF...that's why I smashed it. This is after

I searched a lot for a solution and saw that there are still some people with the same problem and it's 2021 and even 2018. Many people hope that there is no touch function at all, and hope to disable it from the underlying code. It is not a good function. What everyone wants is just a 4K-8K precision pen.

If this common problem is a hardware problem, believe me, this trouble is bigger than a software problem, it's a quality control problem.

I restarted the service and everything is fine now, but I wouldn't be surprised if a similar problem occurs tomorrow. Hardware problems cannot be fixed by restarting the software process.

Regardless of the issue you have, it is definitely not related with the issue being discussed on this thread.

If you are you sure you have a driver bug, then please collect some logs and file a report:

I would still recommend you to rule out hardware issues using our Diagnose tool: https://support.wacom.com/hc/en-us/articles/8495072390039-How-can-I-diagnose-a-Touch-issue-with-my-Wacom-device-

I'm having a similar problem - my Mac M1 using Ventura 13.5 with a PTH-660 keeps telling me that security settings are prohibiting the tablet from working. I chased all those down, and finally got the message that the driver needs to be updated by Wacom. I'm using the latest driver, 6.2.4-4, but to no avail. I've uninstalled and reinstalled. Is there a fix to get my driver working again?

    Hi Jeffrey Burke

You issue doesn't seem like the one being reported on this thread either since this bug doesn't show any security message errors.

    Please try this:

    1. Unplug the tablet
    2. Manually remove the permissions from Accessibility and Input monitoring
    3. Reboot
    4. Plug the tablet back in and follow the prompts on the screen

I am a wildlife photographer and I have been using Wacom Tablet for a while.  Given the current situation, I will not consider another Wacom product.  The company is either incapable of understanding and fixing the problem; or they feel like customers having to reboot or restart the drivers every couple of hours or a few days is not a big deal. Either way, this is the last Wacom tablet for me.

I absolutely agree with the above comment; couldn't have put it better myself.  It's like; "yes, we know our products don't work properly. Just uninstall and reinstall, unplug or reboot several times a day.  It's how they're meant to work". I'm going to reach out to my tech journalists to shine a light on this.  Also I'll try and contact the Wacom CEO, Nobutaka Ide to see what he makes of this debacle.

Hi João, same problem as others 'touch off' flashing up every few minutes and unresponsive tablet for 10 / 15 seconds each time. Really, really annoying. Please update me when there is a new driver. Many thanks. (Wacom Intros Pro PTH-660, macOS Ventura)

UPDATE! FIXED!!!  What I did was uninstall the driver...and remove the tablet.  Using the mouse again.  Gotta love it!

Isn't this still fixed? I've been suffering from the same problem as you for several months.

Also, my tablet driver sometimes suddenly gets down although it used to work well during past hours... I have to restart my mac whenever I find this error. how annoying and bothering this is????????

The stupidest and laziest customer service I have ever met. I can't believe they still repeat the answer "Just turn on and off your tablet driver and computer~~" even though so many people are having difficulty because of this problem since about 3 months ago.

Wacom is letting their customer leave by themselves. I won't consider choosing wacom anymore if they don't provide proper driver maintenance...

To all the followers of this thread:

This issue has been addressed in the latest driver release 6.4.3-2 (10th of August)

    See all details here: https://cdn.wacom.com/u/productsupport/drivers/mac/professional/releasenotes/Mac_6.4.3-2.html

Was excited to see the latest post on this thread with the availability of an updated driver to fix the issue.

    But not for Windows.

I've had the same challenge from time to time previously, but it has become more and more regular until it's now almost impossible to work uninterrupted for any period of time without the Touch On / Touch Off show dominating the work area.

None of the fixes have worked - what are the chances of a patch for the Windows Driver being made available soonest?

    Much appreciation in advance.

Update: My driver crashing issue was largely resolved by employing a powered USB hub, and then I also replaced my 2017 iMac running Monterey with a 2021 24" iMac running Ventura. When the latest driver, 6.4.3-2, became available, I installed it. I'm sorry to report that I still have a problem with the driver crashing, although it's much less obtrusive than it was before I got the powered hub.

Here's what the driver's release notes have to say:

    Pen tablets     PTH-460 PTH-660 PTH-860

An intermittent issue with the pen not working properly after a driver restart has been fixed in most scenarios, but remains in others.

We are working to fix this issue.

Kenneth Huey Thanks for letting us know.

Would you mind gathering some logs and reporting this to the support team? If the latest changes don't fix the issue 100% for you, then we need to:

    a) rule out any other lingering issues
    b) check your system setup in more detail to find the root cause

    Hi Ailsa Moffat,

As mentioned in the official comment, this is a Mac OS only bug.

From your description it seems like you have a connection problem so please doublecheck your connection and see if the issue persists.

If you think you have found a bug, please collect the logs and contact our support team:

The new Mac Driver 6.4.3-2 fixes this bug..so far...for two days anyway, this new driver update works. No "touch on/off" cycling.  If anything changes, you better believe I'll be back.

  • Phoebe Lee

I tried the driver update. And it doesn't work for me.

+ After about an hour. I think my first impression was my confusion.

But I think it's not stable. I hope it will be fixed well.

++ No.... it turned out that it's not fixed...

the frequency was decreased but the sigh "Touch on" still appears.

    Hi Phoebe Lee

The crash will probably still occur, but the driver should be able to recover from this smoothly with the latest update as opposed to the previous version which required a reboot to get the driver working again.

Can you please confirm if the driver is still working after you see the "Touch ON" message or if you still need to reboot?

what OS are you on, and curious if you're on a M1 or M2 processor?  I'm running OS 13.5 on 2017 iMac Pro Xeon W processor.  So far on third day, it's still working as it should.  I did not uninstall driver ...I downloaded the latest driver and installed over old, rebooted and it's been fine ...so far.  Hate that it's still doing that crap to you.

    Hello Anonymous User

Sorry to hear that. I have created a support ticket so we can check your issue in depth.

I have exactly the same problems with the tablet and the frustrating thing is: that I had the problem on several MacBooks (M1 & M2) and different Wacom tablets (on different interfaces/ports with different cables and also wireless). For almost 3 years now I try all possible troubleshootings without success. Meanwhile (by the way, since the last driver update that promised a solution) the tablet hangs and freezes on average every 15-20 seconds, so it has become unusable for me. (as I said: again, I have the problem both at home and at work with different hardware) I use Wacom products since 2006 and I assure you: this was my last tablet from Wacom. Never again. There are enough competing products on the market that are sufficient for my needs.

    Hi Julia Klemm

I understand what you mean but this issue only started a few months back. If you are having this issue since 3 years, than this might be something else. I have opened a support ticket to follow up with you so we can:

    • Make sure there are no other issues with your device(s) that can be resolved otherwise
    • If this exact issue is confirmed, collect the details of your setup so we can let the driver team know

    Hi Joao,

thanks for the quick reply but no, I have actually had the problem since 2020. The fact that it now occurs every 15-20 seconds is a new problem that has arisen with the current driver. Before that, the constant freezing and restarting of the driver was annoying but still tolerable because it happened less often.
Also, the problem occurs on multiple Macs (as mentioned, currently an M1 and an M2 MacBook Pro, before that an iMac (and also: different OS-Versions, different user accounts)) and I have two Wacom Intous Pro PTH-660 models with which the problem occurs on all Macs at the same frequency. Something tells me that the problem is more of a software issue than a hardware issue.

    Hi Julia Klemm

My guess is that whatever unresolved issue you already had, just became apparently worse because of the current one. The support team will contact you shortly with more questions so we can get to the bottom of it.

The situation will the disconnection is exactly the same with the new 6.4.3-2 driver.  My Wacom constantly loses touch and operation every few minutes.  It really is a hopeless situation.  Are the programmers not testing testing with the latest Mac platforms like the M2 Mac Studio and Ventura 13.5?   I can't see why they wouldn't be having the same issues with the latest driver.

    Hi Peter Corbett

Sorry to read that this is still much of an issue for you at the moment. I am pretty sure that we do test on M2 devices and Ventura 13.5 but there are many more variables to a system than just that. Although the latest update has clearly improved the situation for some user (based on the feedback received), we are aware that this is still an issue and we are still working on it, as stated in the release notes.

I am deeply sorry there is no workaround I can propose you for the time being but if I get any further updates from the team, I will be sure to let everyone on this thread know.

This is honestly insane. I started having problems a month ago when I updated to Ventura 13.5 and I've gone through every option. I needed a new tablet anyway so I bought a new one, cleaned out all the old drivers and downloaded the 6.4.3-2 driver. The *TOUCH ON* driver crash happens every 3 minutes. I tried to ignore it and keep working, until about 45 minutes into a photoshop project the driver crashed completely and stopped responding at all. I'm going to restart my computer and see how long I can go before it crashes again. I don't know what to do. Not looking for an apology, just wondering why my brand new wacom tablet is basically worthless. I guess it's time to switch to ipad pro with an apple pen that actually works.

    Hi Josh Courlas

I understand if you don't want to do it, but it would be helpful if you could share the logs from your driver with us.

We would also like to know the specifics of your use case and why the crash occurs so often for you.

Please use the guide here to collect the logs and contact our support team if you would like to help: https://support.wacom.com/hc/en-us/articles/10010268158103-I-want-to-report-a-driver-bug-How-do-I-collect-Wacom-driver-logs-
