I am having the same issue with the touch off./ touch on message sporadically appearing and the driver freezing. Is there a driver update currently in development ?

    thanks

I installed Driver 6.4.4-2 within the last hour, on an iMac running macOS 13.6, and the driver just crashed on me twice, in quick succession. But I haven't had to reboot, yet.

The new 6.4.4.2 driver on my system is still freezing and losing touch like the previous drivers.  I have a Mac M2 Ultra Studio with Ventura 13.5.1

Thanks a lot for trying the new driver and providing feedback. I will forward this to the Driver team immediately.

A lot of odd behavior since I installed 6.4.4-2 a couple days ago. At one point, I had to reboot almost a dozen times in a row because of various failures, including: losing touch; losing stylus; losing scrolling; losing the ability to extend a selection using the shift or command keys; and IIRC at least one full system hang. There have also been long periods with very little misbehavior, and, at its best, the occasional pause while I wait for the driver to relaunch is a relatively small inconvenience. But overall, this is as bad as I've ever had a tablet behave. The saving grace is that my new iMac (running macOS 13.6) starts back up so quickly that rebooting is much less of a hassle.

I have to say that after four days using the new driver, the situation is still as bad as ever with frequent disconnection.   Our Wacoms are connected via USB, not Bluetooth.  The M1 Studio and M1 Macbook Air don't have near the number of Wacom "crashes" as our M2 Ultra systems.

    Hi Kenneth Huey,

Thanks again for the feedback. Would you be willing / able to share some logs with us?

The Modifiers bug is known (see: https://support.wacom.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/18519752253207--Main-post-Mac-OS-Modifiers-Shift-Command-Control-click-not-working-with-pen-clicks-after-6-4-4-2)

    Hi Peter Corbett

I have been testing with a regular M2 MacBook and it has been fairly stable but my test setup is quite light.

Would/could you also share some logs with us?

HERE IS HOW TO MAKE YOUR TABLET WORK AGAIN - I can tell everyone, uninstall the current driver and install vers 6.4.0-9 and reboot.  Can get it from the "older drivers" selection.  I'm running Sonoma and this driver has been working solid for last two weeks straight.  Until I see someone pop up with a "it works" on the new driver, I'll keep the old one going.

Hi Kenneth,  I'm not sure how to find the correct logs.  Can you point me in the right direction.  BTW, the tablet has been misbehaving the worst ever today.   I just had to uninstall and reinstall the driver (again) as the cursor just froze or stuttered.   I do have a high load system (M2 Studio Ultra) with Premiere, Photoshop, catalyst and other apps open if that has any bearing for you.

    Hi Peter Corbett

Once you package the logs, a file with the name WacomLog_yyyymmddhhmmss.zip will appear on your desktop. You can take this file and send it to our support.

Here is an example from one I collected last week:

Just bought brand new Mac Studio (sonoma 14.1), installed the brand new driver (6.4.4-2), got the same old problem. Currently trying to grade a feature with a 2008 wired mouse. Any chance of you guys fixing this or shall I just calmly lay my head on my desk and begin thinking about how much better life would have been as a florist... your choice.

Well – being on the verge of a psychological meltdown, I found a solution. I bought the tablet from Xencelabs. All is good now. Goodbye, Wacom.

Same issues. Just out of the box. Getting ready to box it back up and send it back. Waste of money and deadline hours. Taking suggestions for an alternate technology to work with.

My Wacom has been unstable for as long as I can remember. But until recently It's been usable. Now it's crashing and freezing constantly. It's a great tool when it works, but unless this gets fixed soon. I'm going to have to find another solution.

I save frequently but just lost another few hours of work because of this issue. Is it worth sitting on a customer care call will they walk me through reinstalling the same faulty driver? Anyone. Is anyone at Wacom?

I will keep trying but I have 41k people following my work on Instagram and I know they are wondering how the new tech is going.

This is happening to me every 5 minutes or so and it is making work impossible. I'm on a new M2 MBP and Ventura, Intuos PTH-651

I've never had any other product cost me so many hours of lost work because of drivers. Every update of either the OS or the driver costs me at least a day of fixing things. Make it stop.

Hi Jordy van den Nieuwendijk thanks for your comment of 5 months ago. Your solution is working for me so far (Intuos Pro M, Mac). I love Wacom, but it has been excruciatingly frustrating for quite some time! I have my fingers crossed.

Thank you Brett Clark, this worked for me:

Just like previous, work-stopping bugs, finding the ONE version of the driver that isn't broken is the key.

Touch on / Touch off  / Touch on  / Touch off / Touch on / Touch off  / Touch on  / Touch off / Touch on / Touch off  / Touch on  / Touch off / Touch on / Touch off  / Touch on  / Touch off

    Like a yoyo

I tried different ways of powering tablet — No difference

I tried switching/ working with the touch off — No difference

Last thought: Could there be any hangovers from my old Wacom tablet that are interfering?

    Hi Jason Kyle,

Can you confirm if you have already installed the latest driver from https://www.wacom.com/en-de/support/product-support/drivers

This issue should be addressed with this version.

If the problem persists, then there might be an issue with your tablets circuit board.

I can't believe everyone here has faulty circuit boards in their Wacoms.  I've been using the latest 6.4.4.5 drivers for several days now and I can say it is just as bad as ever.   Constant freezes, stuttering of cursor, system hangs, etc.  The Wacom disconnects even more frequently than previous drivers.   And yes I did the security and accessibility checks and removed the previous driver before installing.   I've had to switch to a Magic Mouse to finish my work today.  The system is a 2023 M2 Mac Studio Ultra with Ventura 13.5.1

    Hi Peter Corbett,

I also don't think everyone has defective boards. The feedback with the latest driver has been positive so far though so I am surprised you are still seeing this issue.

I honestly don't know what else could cause this but I would be very helpful if you would help with collecting some logs and formally reporting a bug: https://support.wacom.com/hc/en-us/articles/10010268158103-I-want-to-report-a-driver-bug-How-do-I-collect-Wacom-driver-logs-

I had been experiencing the same problem for months, and nothing works !! I've been in contact many times with the support but they can't find a solution, it's really problematic !

I'm a professional illustrator and I just can't work properly, it drives me crazy !!!! I'm using Wacom since 15 years now, but it seems that I will have to change for another brand, I'm so annoyed and furious.

Hey vainui castelbajac , try uninstalling your current driver and then download version 6.3.42-1. Yeah it's an older driver BUT it works like a charm.  I'm on the latest Mac OS and it's been working NO problem for a couple months so far.

The new driver from november did not solve the issue for me. Still lags and freezes.
