    Hi Grace Lindelien

I understand. It could certainly be possible but If that is the case, it could be a bug that we haven't seen reported yet.

I do hope there is an update soon that solves most of the issues.

If it doesn't solve the battery indicator issue, let us know.

So not only do the modifier keys not work with the Wacom pen, but now every so often the Wacom drivers are doing something strange and I keep getting the message Touch Off as though the drivers have restarted... Prior to the message the pen becomes unresponsive but only for a few moments.

This needs to be fixed as it has been going on now for nearly 2 weeks now and I am beginning to think Wacom are not bothered. If I dont hear anything in the next week I will be buying an XP-Pen

My Wacom is hard wired to the M1 Max. So the battery is not on trial here. It's the lousy drivers.

Thank you for the update. I have reinstalled a previous version. Sad that Wacom can’t seem to figure this issue out. Even if we explain the issue.

Same problem here. Working with layers in Photoshop (duplicating, show masks etc.) is impossible, only works with mouse. Also some issues with Indesign, seletc portions of copy with shift click is not always possible. Strage behaviour, restartin sometimes solves it for a few minutes.

And I have the frequent crashing of that touch driver, too. -- This thread is unanswered for over a week now, any news?

Same problem here, and the driver is very unstable too.

For me also uninstall and reinstall of the previous driver did it, WacomTablet_6.4.3-2 just runs fine all day on macOS 14.1.1. So far so good.

    Same problem here.
I have lost my latest backuped wacom.preferences upon overwriting them from 6.4.4-2.
I had just set up my shortcuts and functions on my CintQ22 for some new software (Affinity's version 2 of Photo and Designer) after installing 6.4.4-2 because I wasn't aware of this issue (cntrl. key not responding even though it is detected by the systems keyboard monitor).

I have afterwards downgraded to Driver 6.4.3-2 and restored a previous wacom.preferences backup, but I´ll have to redo my new soft. setup. (bummer)

*****I wish we could copy and paste shortcuts etc. between different apps inside the wacon prefs***** and not have to manually repeat all the configuration again. ¿Any devs around?

    Good morning,

I’ve just reached out to Wacom’s tech support with an email detailing my Mac OS and Wacom model. I described the same error I posted here and reassured them that all my ports and the new cable are functioning properly. Interestingly, Adobe got in touch with me too, confirming that this issue isn’t just with Mac users but PC users as well. It seems the root of the problem lies in the Wacom driver. Hopefully, we’ll see a resolution soon.

It's been taking a very long time now.

Had the same problems and reinstalled everything and luckily with the help of Joao everything is working again, but the problem is still there and i don't dare go to an older version or update to Sonoma.

Just use the mouse, but that doesn't solve everything and is very annoying.

Hop there is a solution soon.

    Hi Iñigo Rotaetxe

I have created a feedback for the Devs based on your request to have a feature to copy and paste settings between apps.

    Cheers

I been having the same issues since updating to 6.4.4-2 wacom driver. touch turns off / on & Modifier keys stopped working. I tried restarting, uninstalling/reinstalling old driver but kept having issues with the permissions.
Here is what worked for me

    1. Uninstall the driver using the tablet utility.
    2. install driver old ver 6.4.1-1
    3. go to System preferences > privacy > accessibility >
    4. manually remove the (click minus button) wacom related options
    5. do the same for privacy > input monitoring >
    6. note: sometimes the Privacy settings was showing two WacomDrivers (screenshot below), remove both and any other i/oWacom settings
    7. restart the driver from wacom app.
    8. the system will ask to update Wacom permission in the Privacy settings as usual.
    9. restart the Mac
    10. (I got some preference issue at first on restart but then it resolved itself)

Hope that helps. I have been using Wacom tablets for nearly 20+ yrs and I don't think there has ever been a situation so terrible with the driver updates as we are experiencing in the last few months.
Lost a full day of work today, thanks to this driver update issue!!!

Hi, I can confirm that downloading the previous driver "Driver 6.4.3-2 (macOS 10.15 - 13)" (I'm on macOS 14) solves the problem.

I went in circles with this for hours and created an account to specifically comment on how frustrating this is, ha. Like a few other users, I uninstalled using the Wacom Tablet Utility (applications > Wacom tablet > Wacome Tablet utility and click "uninstall") and downloaded an old version of the driver. Version 6.4.1-2 worked for my Intuous Pro M. Hoping for a proper fix soon... this error makes the new driver completely unfunctional for any sort of editing & painting on Adobe.

So the solution is to go back to an old driver?

João not personally towards you of course, but is it not somewhat unacceptable to leave a whole group of users hanging with this problem since October 18? That's almost a month already. Many industry pro's are heavily reliant on Wacom's products. We have clients and deadlines. Why on earth is this taking so long? Why is there no ETA? So many questions...

  • João

    Hi Richard Beerens

Sorry, still no ETA for the time being. We will inform everyone affected once a new version is available and the issue is fixed.

Unfortunately, the fix is not as simple as we would like it to be. We also need to be thorough with testing before release to ensure that:
    a) the issue is actually solved
    b) not other critical issues appear

Hello Everyone, the reported issue of modifier keys (Shift, Command, ect..) not working with the macOS driver has been resolved with the last driver released today. Please download and install the driver. If you see any issues, please contact Wacom Support Directly.

Alex: How about updating the First post, and/or mentioning the version number?
So that people discovering this situation don't have to wade to the end of this thread to discover this?

Thank you for resolving this very annoying problem. Will report any issues but so far everything looking good.

Starting up with the new drivers and a tablet connected directly via cable, I get this message (eventually). The drivers take over a minute to load, but only touch, not pen - which doesn't function. You have to physically unplug/replug usb cable to bring Pen to life.
